Abstract: The invention concerns a composition capable of being hydrolyzed by a cutaneous enzyme, glucocerebrosidase. The active precursor is advantageously a gluco-conjugate derived from phenol whereof the two &agr; carbons are free. The invention also concerns the use of such compositions against light-induced skin ageing or for making a medicine for treating certain skin diseases. The invention further concerns novel glucosylated compounds.

Abstract: A probe including a body having a main chamber receiving an assembly for transmitting and receiving an ultrasonic wave. The assembly is mounted on a frame driven in reciprocating motion by a driving motor. The chamber is closed by a probe tip having a slot made of a liquid impermeable solid element which is permeable to the acoustic wave transmitted by the acoustic transducer and toward the acoustic transducer. A reciprocating motion of the acoustic transducer is a translating movement parallel to the slot such that the ultrasonic beam is normal at the slot.

Abstract: The invention concerns a coal tar extract with reduced polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon and benzo(a)pyrene content and a method for obtaining same using two sequentially linked distillation systems. The invention also concerns cosmetic and dermatological preparations containing said resulting coal tar extract.
