Patent number: 9977148Abstract: A method for synchronizing a light grid comprising a transmitting unit having a plurality of transmitters and a receiving unit having a plurality of receivers. A transmitter control unit activates the transmitters one after another in a cycle, and a receiver control unit evaluates the receivers. Each transmitter is associated with a receiver, and an activated transmitter transmits a transmission beam to its associated receiver. At least two transmission beams in the cycle are synchronization transmission beams which are emitted at a time offset from one another. The receiver control unit measures the time offset, and the synchronization transmission beams are uniquely associated with the totality of the transmission beams in the cycle on the basis of the time offset.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 2015Date of Patent: May 22, 2018Assignee: PILZ AUSLANDSBETEILIGUNGEN GMBHInventors: Friedjof Tellkamp, Massimo Maffioli, Christoph Werner, Gerhard Braun

Patent number: 9945978Abstract: A light curtain component comprising a housing which extends essentially along a longitudinal direction, and having a plurality of optoelectronic emission or reception elements which are arranged in the housing and are oriented toward an upper side of the housing, and which are separated from one another along the longitudinal direction. The housing comprises, on a front side, a first planar front surface which is arranged at an angle (?) of less than 90°, preferably equal to 45°, with respect to the longitudinal direction. This first planar front surface allows joining two such light curtain components flush with one another in a corner, without undesired formation of dead or blind zones taking place.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 2015Date of Patent: April 17, 2018Assignee: PILZ AUSLANDSBETEILIGUNGEN GMBHInventors: Dominik Guldimann, Roger Loop

Patent number: 8944478Abstract: A locking apparatus with tumbler for safety doors has a door part for fastening on a movable safety door and has a frame part for fastening on a door counterpart. The frame part has a receptacle and the door part has an actuator configured to be inserted into the receptacle. The frame part further has a blocking member which is displaceable between a release position, in which the actuator can be released in, and a blocking position in which the actuator is secured in the receptacle. The actuator is arranged on the door part via an elastic compensating element.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2012Date of Patent: February 3, 2015Assignee: Pilz Auslandsbeteiligungen GmbHInventors: Juergen Pullmann, Roland Rupp, Andreas Veit

Patent number: 8534722Abstract: A safety interlocking device has a locking unit for mounting on the safe side to a door relative to a hazardous region, and a locking cage for mounting on a door frame interacting with the door. In order to be able to open, from the hazardous region, the locked door and escape from the hazardous region, an escape unlocking device is provided for unlocking the safety interlocking device. The locking cage has a locking stop which is articulated to a base plate so as to be able to pivot about a pivot axis from an interlocking position into an emergency opening position. The escape unlocking device possesses at least one arresting tip which, in an escape position, releases the locking stop for pivoting into the emergency opening position. Provided between an emergency handle and the arresting tip is a stretched rod piece which is embodied so as to be displaceable together with the arresting tip.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2009Date of Patent: September 17, 2013Assignee: Pilz Auslandsbeteiligungen GmbHInventors: Max Schmid, Fouad Mahdi

Publication number: 20110062949Abstract: A sensor is disclosed for monitoring a part which can move translationally relative to a sensor with reference to its position on the axis of motion. This part is for example a piston in a cylinder which is equipped with a sensor. The sensor can be actuated by means of a magnet which is oriented in the direction of motion with respect to the north and south pole and which is located on the movable part. The sensor has three reed contacts which are aligned in parallel and of which the first and the second reed contact are located in one plane and parallel next to one another with their lengthwise axes, by which they can be actuated almost at the same time by the magnetic field of the magnet which is located on the movable part. The third reed contact is located at a distance to the plane of the first and the second reed contact. This sensor with the first two reed contacts is mounted facing the actuating magnet.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 12, 2010Publication date: March 17, 2011Applicant: PILZ AUSLANDSBETEILIGUNGEN GMBHInventors: Max SCHMID, Fouad MAHDI

Patent number: 7782163Abstract: A set is disclosed with a position sensor and an exciter part. The position sensor has three reed contacts which are pointed parallel to one another in a triangle arrangement next to one another, of which the first two are used for doubled detection of the exciter magnetic field. The third reed contact is used to generate an error signal when the sensor is activated by means of an outside magnetic field. The exciter part has three permanent magnets which are arranged in a triangle arrangement which corresponds to the triangle arrangement of the reed contacts, with pole axes aligned parallel to one another. Of them, the first two magnets are pointed in the same direction and are located at a first distance to one another. The third magnet is polarized in the direction opposite the first two. This results in that only the two make contacts can be activated by the two bar magnets which are pointed in the same direction. Conversely, all three reed contacts are activated each by an outside magnetic field.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2007Date of Patent: August 24, 2010Assignee: Pilz Auslandsbeteiligungen GmbHInventors: Max Schmid, Fouad Mahdi

Publication number: 20100180511Abstract: The invention relates to a locking device (11) with a bolt part (13) and a lock part (15) for arrangement on a room-closing element having an opening and a door (17) closing the opening. The bolt part (13) has a longitudinal guiding device (25) and a bolt (23) that can be displaced in a longitudinal displacement direction (21) with respect to the longitudinal guiding device (25). The lock part (15) has a receiving opening (29) for receiving a first end of the bolt (23). The bolt part (13) has in addition to the longitudinal guiding device (25) a transverse guiding device. Spring means (39), which are in active engagement with the longitudinal guiding device (25) and the transverse guiding device cushion a displacement of the bolt (23) in a transverse adjustment direction (47). The adjustment direction (47) is directed transversely to the displacement direction (21) of the bolt (23) and parallel to the door plane and is defined by the transverse guiding device (34).Type: ApplicationFiled: January 15, 2010Publication date: July 22, 2010Applicant: Pilz Auslandsbeteiligungen GmbHInventor: Fouad Mahdi
