The apparatus includes a housing of the shape and size of at least one crate storing the produce, the housing having at least one opening therein; and at least one ultrasonic nebulizer for generating fog from a liquid pesticide, the fog rising through the opening to generate a cloud of micro droplets of the pesticide in the container.
