  • Publication number: 20110044048
Abstract: An attachment assembly for a droplight and a method of attaching a droplight are disclosed. The attachment assembly includes a mounting plate, at least one leaf-spring assembly and a clamp. The mounting plate is configured to be disposed over a reflector of the droplight. The reflector includes a rim that has a first side and a second side. The at least one leaf-spring assembly is secured to a first end of the mounting plate and biased away from a second end of the mounting plate. The at least one leaf-spring assembly includes a first hook configured to engage the first side of the rim and a second hook configured to engage the second side of the rim. The clamp is secured to the mounting plate in adjustable configuration and configured to secure the mounting plate to a supporting structure.

  • Publication number: 20070278344
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described for producing lift gas to enable balloon launch or to allow the prolongation of balloon flight. In one example, the method may include reforming a fuel source by reaction with water to generate hydrogen-rich lift gas mixtures, and injecting the lift gas into a balloon. The reforming operation may include causing the combustion of a combustible material with ambient oxygen for the release of energy; and heating a reforming combination of reaction fuel and water with the energy released from the combustion of the combustible material, to a temperature above that required for the reforming reaction wherein the fuel and water sources are reformed into lift gas. In one example, the amount of the combustible material combusted is sufficient to result in the release of enough energy to heat an amount of the reforming reaction fuel and water sources to the temperature above that required for the reforming reaction to proceed.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for removing oil or natural gas from the ground. In one example, the method may include reforming a fuel source by reaction with water to generate driver gas, and injecting the driver gas into the oil well. The reforming operation may include causing the combustion of a combustible material with ambient oxygen for the release of energy; and heating a reforming reaction fuel and water sources, with the energy released from the combustion of the combustible material, to a temperature above that required for the reforming reaction wherein the fuel and water sources are reformed into driver gas. In one example, the amount of the combustible material combusted is sufficient to result in the release of enough energy to heat an amount of the reforming reaction fuel and water sources to the temperature above that required for the reforming reaction to proceed. The driver gas may be used to help extract oil from the ground and especially oil from depleted oil wells.

  • Patent number: 6347627
Abstract: A self-contained system which converts nitrous oxide to a breathable gas mixture of nitrogen and oxygen. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, a portable system is disclosed wherein liquefied nitrous oxide is converted to a breathable gas mixture of nitrogen and oxygen. The decomposition occurs over a catalyst bed which is all contained in a small reactor. The invention is useful for underwater, fire fighting and outer space applications.
