Patents Assigned to Pirelli Kabel & Systeme GmbH & Co. KG
  • Patent number: 7038140
Abstract: An electrical cable having at least one core including a conductor and an insulation surrounding the conductor and having at least two insulation layers. A first one of the layers is a silicone rubber compound and a second one of the layers is an ethylene(C2)-alkylene(Cx)-copolymer or terpolymer mixture adapted to have properties corresponding to those of a hardgrade-ethylene-propylene-rubber (H-EPR). The second layer can be a hardgrade-EPR. Such a cable construction in particular enables reduction of the cable diameter while still being capable of sustaining a burn test according to DIN 4102 Section.
