Abstract: A filter purge and maintenance control system monitors a fluid circulation line passing fluid through a filter. The system includes a vacuum switch manifold having a first vacuum switch sensing a first calibrated vacuum threshold, and a second vacuum switch sensing a second calibrated vacuum threshold in the fluid circulation line. The first vacuum switch provides a first calibrated vacuum threshold signal. The second vacuum switch provides a second calibrated vacuum threshold signal. A purge switch is actuated to purge a fluid from a filter housing, and a reset switch is actuated to reset the control system to a filtering operation. A first indicator is connected to the first vacuum switch for receiving the first calibrated vacuum threshold signal and illuminating the first threshold indicator. A second indicator is connected to the second vacuum switch for receiving the second calibrated vacuum threshold signal and illuminating the second threshold indicator.

  • Publication number: 20240375027
Abstract: A tiltable filter canister including a housing and a lid adjacent to each other. The lid encloses the housing to form an interior of the tiltable filter canister. A seal may be disposed between the housing and the lid for forming a vacuum tight seal. A handle is connected to the lid, the handle having a first position and a second position. When the handle is in the first position, the seal may form the vacuum tight seal. A pin connects the handle to the lid and allows the handle to rotate between the first position and the second position. An arcuate surface may be present on the handle with a first protrusion for receiving a stop and a second protrusion. A first canister position of the tiltable filter canister is configured for performing a filtering operation and a second canister position of the tiltable filter canister is configured for performing a maintenance operation.

  • Patent number: 10433674
Abstract: A deep fat fryer with continuous oil filtering and purging of sediments therefrom during uninterrupted fryer operation is provided. The filter includes a cylindrical hollow housing with a first end and a second end and a hollow cylindrical screen with a longitudinal axis and first and second ends. The screen is disposed coaxially within the hollow housing to define an annulus therebetween. A piston mounted within the screen and reciprocatingly movable along the longitudinal axis between the first and second ends of the screen. A pump, seal, and associate motor are provided to provide continuous oil flow through the filter and the remainder of the fryer. A heat exchanger is provided downstream of the pump to transfer heat from the fryer to the oil flowing through the heat exchanger.

  • Patent number: 10436730
Abstract: A system for measuring the state of degradation of cooking oil in a deep fryer is provided. The system includes a loop of piping fluidly connected to a fryer for selectively allowing flow of oil from the fryer and into the loop and for returning to the fryer. A pump urges the flow of cooking oil through the loop of piping and selectively to urge oil to return to the at least one fryer pot. The loop further comprises a return portion that extends from a discharge of the pump toward a suction of the pump. A sensor is disposed in the return portion of the loop and adapted to measure an electrical property that is indicative of total polar materials of said cooking oil. A vent line is provided in the return portion of the loop.

  • Patent number: 8029271
Abstract: A self-cleaning burner system incorporates an automatic clean cycle when the burner is started up. Cycles may be programmed for once-a-day cleaning cycle or for other desired interval. On start-up, the cycle routes a small amount of fuel to the burner for ignition inside the burner to clean the burner surfaces. The system incorporates an igniter for fast, routine, and safe ignition of the fuel. Thus, small amounts of debris that accumulate on a surface burner are automatically ignited when the burner is started, keeping the burner clean and operating at a high state of efficiency at all times. The self-cleaning burner system may be incorporated into a fryer or other heating appliance for reliable, efficient operation.
