Abstract: A unit conversion system configuration method includes the following steps. The unit conversion system includes a unit converter converting a unit to another unit utilizing a repository of unit conversion information in the system. The system receives new conversion information in a message transferred thereto. The new conversion information is added to the repository to provide the unit converter with a new unit conversion function based on the new conversion information without updating the unit converter.

The font database stores multiple font files, each of which corresponds to a character identified by a character code, with each of the font files stored at a font file address. The first array stores multiple first items, with each of the first items storing information regarding addresses of a set of the font files corresponding to consecutive character codes. The source and destination character code sets are analyzed to establish a mapping table indicating relationships therebetween. A target character encoded in the source character code set is converted to destination code encoded in the destination character code set by searching the mapping table.
