  • Patent number: 5829633
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for the metering of a predeterminable quantity of a liquid, more particularly H.sub.2 O.sub.2, having a liquid inlet (10E), at least one metering chamber (6) and a liquid outlet (10A), in that the quantity of the liquid delivered by the apparatus always has not only an identical volume, but also identical properties. Thus more particularly in the case of gassing-out liquids, such as H.sub.2 O.sub.2, for example, it is possible to reliably ensure that a continues metering of a bubble-free liquid is rendered possible, so as not to change the concentration.

  • Patent number: 5660100
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for the sterilization during the filling of preferably liquid foodstuffs into packaging containers, having a preheating zone (A), a sterilizing zone (B), a drying zone (C), a filling zone (D) and a closure zone (E), in that the period during which the individual zones are acted upon with a sterilizing agent can be shortend and that the quantity of the sterilizing agent to be used can be minimized. In addition, a simple construction is desirable, so that the expenditure always required for cleaning and maintenance is also minimized. This is solved by the features that the individual zones (A, B, C, D, E) are combined into an overall space and closed in the upward direction by a single hood into which the required supply elements and lines (2, 3, 4, 5) are integrated.

  • Patent number: 5143281
Abstract: The invention relates to a folding box of composite cardboard material coated heat sealably at least on the inside, which has a flat bottom to which two pairs of opposite triangular folding pockets are sealed lying flat. To prevent bubble formation on the inside of the package, more particularly those areas of the triangular folding pockets which are to be sealed to one another over their complete surface, due to steam forming in the composite cardboard material during the heat activation of the areas, the heat sealable coating is perforated right into the cardboard in the areas.

  • Patent number: 5054684
Abstract: The invention relates to a package for liquid made of a coated cardboard composite, having a pierceable opening for a drinking straw, which has incisions 11 running towards one another in the form of rays or a star, and perferably a cutout 9 located at the star point of the incisions. An opening thus constructed for a drinking straw easily enables an arbitrarily concentric expansion of the star flaps located between the incisions, so that said flags rest sealingly on the drinking straw in each case. This guarantees for different drinking straws a uniform opening for the drinking straw which can be introduced into the multilayer cardboard composite both before it is coated and after it is coated.

  • Patent number: 4930683
Abstract: A parallelepipedal flat-gabled package, especially an eared package with a medial seam, having an area in the gable that has been prepared such that it can be penetrated or separated along a closed curve and, once it has been penetrated or separated, will constitute a pouring hole. The package also has a plastic pour-out structure that has a flange surrounding the pouring hole, rigidly secured to the outer surface of the gable, and into the spout of which can be axially inserted a tube with a circumference that matches the closed curve. It also has a number of triangular teeth along the surface that faces the pouring hole, and a cap that can be repeatedly employed to close the spout, the inner surface of the package being coated with a hot-adhering film of plastic. The closure-flap cap is securely attached to the tube, by way of a connecting strip, and is articulated to the tab on the pour-out structure, which is in the form of a spout.

  • Patent number: 4896478
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for sterilizing packaging material, in particular packaging containers by means of a liquid sterilizing agent containing hydrogen peroxide, in which a mixture consisting of sterilizing agent and air is vaporized within a spray pipe (18) and guided positively within the spray pipe so that a very good vaporization capacity is achieved. In order to achieve this, a rotary flow movement along a central axis is imparted to the mixture of vapor and air by swirl bodies (19, 21) and coil spring inserts (22, 23) inserted alternately therewith inside the spray pipe (18) and the liquid which has not yet vaporized is given a flow direction in opposition to that of the main stream of the mixture and consequently a long residence time of the liquid on the pipe wall of the spray pipe (18) is achieved.
