Abstract: A container employs an access tool in child-resistant packaging. The container includes a seamless container body having a sidewall and a base formed of a single piece of metal. The container body is drawn to shape from the single piece of sheet metal via deep drawing. The container includes a lid that covers an aperture at an upper end of the container body when the container is closed, and a lever ring attached to the container body adjacent to an upper edge of the sidewall. The lever ring receives and grips a plug portion of the lid to cover the aperture. When not in use, the access tool is magnetically attached to the base, hidden from view. The access tool is a lever configured pry the lid away from the lever ring. The container may include a removably coupled secondary cover to cover the lever ring and lid.

Abstract: A self-opening container incorporates a child-resistant closure mechanism, which prevents operation of an opening mechanism of the container when the child-resistant (CR) closure mechanism is in a locked configuration. The container includes a container body, lid, and inner casing slidably mounted in an inner cavity of the container body. The opening mechanism is configured to automatically raise the inner casing and open the lid, thereby providing access to container contents. The child-resistant closure mechanism includes a button or bar slidably mounted to the bottom of the container to move between first position and second positions, corresponding to locked and unlocked configurations. The button or bar is coupled to a latch member that abuts against a catch surface of the inner casing when the CR mechanism is in its locked configuration, and does not abut against the catch structure when the CR mechanism is in its unlocked configuration.

The container incorporates mechanisms for creating and storing microdoses of edibles or medicaments. The CR reclosable container contains closure mechanisms, such as a latching pin and catch assembly, that present difficulties to a child attempting to open the container but that a properly trained adult can operate without undue problems to open the container. The container includes a cutter at the lid and a cutting support assembly at the base. A user places a product on the cutting support assembly, then closes the container lid to cut the product in two. This procedure can be used with cannabis products or similar psychoactive products to create microdoses below a threshold quantity that creates a perceptible psychoactive effect in the user.
