Abstract: A cover (1) for an inflatable bag or cushion type retaining device (6), in particular a lateral one, including at least a body (2), a mechanism for retaining the body (2) and a mechanism for fixing the body (2), directly or indirectly, to the bodywork (5) of a vehicle. The body (2) of the cover (1) is constituted by at least two layers, namely: a layer (8) permitting the shaping and the self-maintaining of the said cover (2); a layer (9) allowing the fixing mechanism to be attached to the body (2); The fixing mechanism is designed to be added on and capable of giving way under the action of the retaining device (6) when it is triggered, so as to enable the cover (1) to open without the body (2) tearing.

Abstract: A dashboard for a vehicle which allows for an integration of internal instruments and accessories into a cavity in a front body panel of the vehicle. The dashboard includes a solid block of material which fill the cavity in the front body panel. At least one location is formed in the block of material. This location is capable of supporting the internal instruments and accessories. The block of material is supported by at least one rigid cross member secured to the vehicle.
Abstract: A process for manufacturing a multilayered object by molding having the steps of placing a lining sheet in a mould, injecting a thermoplastic resin material beneath the lining sheet, distributing the thermoplastic resin material beneath the lining sheet to form at least one thermoplastic resin based inner layer by creating a reserve of the thermoplastic resin material in a peripheral portion of the object, holding the extending portion of the sheet in place on the mold during the step of injecting and after the step of injecting so as to retain peripheral tightness of the thermoplastic resin material on a sliding holding point on the punch during movement of the die, pressing the extending portion of the lining sheet against the mold, and sandwiching the reserve in a liquid state between the lining sheet and a portion of the mold until the injected resin material sets to thereby form the multilayered object.
