    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a retaining assembly for an animal trap. The retaining assembly includes a housing configured to be mounted to a base of the animal trap. A drawer is slidably coupled to the housing between a first position and a second position. A retaining feature is coupled to the drawer. The retaining feature is configured to engage with a retaining arm of the animal trap in the first position and disengage from the retaining arm in the second position.
