  • Patent number: 11610588
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, non-transitory computer-readable media, and methods for generating contextually relevant transcripts of voice recordings based on social networking data. For instance, the disclosed systems receive a voice recording from a user corresponding to a message thread including the user and one or more co-users. The disclosed systems analyze acoustic features of the voice recording to generate transcription-text probabilities. The disclosed systems generate term weights for terms corresponding to objects associated with the user within a social networking system by analyzing user social networking data. Using the contextually aware term weights, the disclosed systems adjust the transcription-text probabilities. Based on the adjusted transcription-text probabilities, the disclosed systems generate a transcript of the voice recording for display within the message thread.

  • Patent number: 11611523
Abstract: A messaging application provides a user interface displaying a user's threads, where each thread includes at least one message between the user and another user. Via the user interface, the user may select a thread to access messages in the thread or to add one or more messages to the thread. The messaging application also displays a sponsored content item along with the threads, but displays the sponsored content item below threads having unread messages to avoid reducing engagement with threads the user is likely to select. In some embodiments, the messaging application predicts a probability that displaying the sponsored content item above a thread including an unread message thread will cause the user not to engage with the thread and displays the sponsored content item above the thread including the unread message if the predicted probability is below a threshold.

  • Patent number: 11610222
Abstract: Leads may be generated for content sponsors based on expressions of interest by users, the users being users of an online system. These leads typically require time or expense from a sponsor to follow up on the lead. The online system scores leads for sponsors to prioritize responding to the generated leads. The scores may include a purchase capacity score and a purchase intent score. The purchase capacity score estimates a user's ability to spend an amount specified by the sponsor for the product, and the purchase intent score estimates a user's likelihood to convert or be interested in the sponsor's product. The scores may be combined to provide a single lead quality score for a user that obscures the source of the online system's prediction to the sponsor.

  • Patent number: 11604622
Abstract: Techniques for selecting portions of audio tracks for content item inclusion are described. For example, a social networking system may receive, from an audio producer, an audio track. In some examples, the social networking system may, using a machine-learned model, determine a first portion of the audio track having a change of frequency over time, and provide the first portion of the audio track to a first user for inclusion in a content item. In some cases, the social networking system may receive a selection of a second portion of the audio track. Based on the selection of the second portion of the audio track, the social networking system may modify the parameters of the machine-learned model to provide the second portion of the audio track to a second user.

  • Patent number: 11605017
Abstract: For various content campaigns (or content), an online system generates a score indicating a likelihood of the content item having deceptive information, such as including a picture or name of a celebrity to promote something that the celebrity has not actually endorsed. The online system receives a request to determine whether a content item comprises deceptive information. The online system extracts features from the content item, and provides the extracted features to a machine learning based model configured to generate score indicating whether a content item comprises deceptive information. The online system executes the machine learning based model to generate the score for the content item. Responsive to the generated score indicating that content item comprises deceptive information, the online system verifies whether the content item conforms to content policies.

  • Patent number: 11606568
Abstract: A video encoder comprises an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) video encoding unit configured to receive via an interface in a processing order, quantized transform coefficients for a transform unit of a frame of a video being encoded. The ASIC unit is configured to analyze at least a portion of the quantized transform coefficients in the processing order to identify one or more end-of-block candidate positions in the processing order. The ASIC unit is configured to translate the one or more end-of-block candidate positions for the at least a portion of the quantized transform coefficients to one or more scan order versions of the one or more end-of-block candidate positions. The ASIC unit is configured to determine a true end-of-block position for the quantized transform coefficients using the one or more scan order versions of the one or more end-of-block candidate positions.

  • Patent number: 11601613
Abstract: An online system customizes video conversations between users of the online system. During a video conversation, the online system presents a composite view to the participating users. The composite view may include visual representations of the users, a background graphic, or other types of graphics such as masks and props that the users can wear or interact with in the environment of the video conversation. The visual representations may be generated based on a live video feed of the users or include avatars of the users. The online system can determine the graphics based on information about the users. For instance, the online system determines a background graphic showing a location that the users have each visited. Upon viewing the background graphic, the users may be encouraged to interact with the background graphic or other graphics included in the composite view, which can promote an engaging video conversation experience.
