Patents Assigned to Plumettaz SA
  • Publication number: 20110248227
Abstract: The buckling detection head is completely encapsulated in an encapsulating material, thus making it possible to protect the emitting and receiving surfaces of the cells for emitting and receiving light signals. This arrangement provides a slot in which the absolutely smooth cable passes, making it easier to clean the head and protect the cells. Other advantages of this arrangement are also described.

  • Patent number: 7740230
Abstract: A pig for installing a cable in a conduit, in which it comprises a body and a seal intended to follow the internal surface of the conduit, the body comprising a radially elastic tubular part on which the seal is mounted, and a support part fixed to or integral with the tubular part, the support part having a guide surface intended to guide the pig in the conduit, the diameter of the guide surface being slightly less than the maximum diameter of the seal, so that the support part radially deforms the tubular part when the pig passes through deformed parts of the conduit.

  • Patent number: 7220197
Abstract: The tracked drive device particularly protected by its frame or hood as well as by protective plates, so as to prevent any accidental insertion of a finger or any other part of the human body between the track elements. The arrangement makes access to the track, for replacement or maintenance, particularly difficult. The invention provides a pivoting construction of the driving device, whereby the driving mechanisms become easily accessible, thus facilitating track change.

  • Patent number: 6942070
Abstract: The load or the working platform is suspended and displaced by at least a pair of cables whereof the stresses are equivalent. Advantageously, each pair of cables is controlled by an emergency braking device comprising means for detecting the slack strand on one of the cables of the pair and controlling a braking on the other cable of the pair. So as to avoid an impact during the emergency braking, the working platform is also equipped with a shock absorbing device.

  • Patent number: 6688582
Abstract: The invention concerns a load balancing device consisting of a planetary or trochoidal mechanical differential speed reducer, arranged on a winch comprising two drums and enabling to balance the torque exerted on the drums. Thus, if a cable is improperly wound on one of th drums, the balancing device enables the tensile load exerted on each wire to remain identical. Such a device is particularly efficient to ensure security for a working platform operating on a building facade.

  • Patent number: 6386512
Abstract: This invention was a portable pushing and pulling apparatus for in-conduit cable installations, the aforementioned device is of the type which comprises a casing that, viewed from above, is in the shape of a rectangle and is formed of a base (1) joined to a cylindrical handle (4), a cover (2), a hinged joint (3) connecting the base (1) and the cover (2) on a short side, a set of screws (40) for ensuring the cover's closure on the base, a drive capstan (25) driven by a rotary drive shaft (28) mounted in the handle (4), an idler disk (29) with an axle parallel to the capstan (25), and both the capstan (25) and the disk (29) are mounted in such a way as to receive a cable (36) to be driven and gripped between them. The invention itself contains in the handle (4), between the drive shaft (28) and the power take-off (53), a torque regulating device at its end, for the torque limiting clutch which indicates the maximum pushing or pulling force selected by the operator.

  • Patent number: 6382875
Abstract: When a tube is laid in a duct by a blowing process, the extremity of the tube first introduced in the duct is fitted with an end cap fastened in an airtight fashion on said extremity and fitted with a valve suitable to control the pressure Pint inside the tube, so that is always greater than the pressure Pext in the duct. In this matter, deformations or implosions of the tube are avoided.

  • Patent number: 6189758
Abstract: A driving device for an elongated element such as a cable includes a device for simultaneously and symmetrically moving two driving track belts apart or closer together in relation to the elongated element. With this driving device, the two track belts can be brought against the elongated element while the elongated element's longitudinal axis remains constant. A single handle allows for simple adjustment of a gap between the two driving track belts and a spring device absorbs instantaneous variation of a transverse dimension of the elongated element.

  • Patent number: 5509861
Abstract: A motion transmitting device comprising input and output drive shafts. An eccentric is provided on the input drive shaft and supports a carrier in which an array of pins are disposed. The pins are extended from one end face of the carrier for intermittent engagement with respective "open mouthed" openings provided in a reaction plate fixed to the housing of the device in order to define the gyratory motion of the carrier. The output shaft is provided with a geared member, and where between adjacent teeth on the geared member, a profile of part semi-circular shape is provided which become sequentially and intermittently engaged by all the pins during one complete rotation of the output shaft, and where the number of teeth is one less than the number of pins.
