Abstract: An advanced sound reducing tape includes a surface treatment which results is reduced noise when the surface treatment comes into contact with various materials. The surface treatment comprises an arrangement of ridges and depressions disposed across a surface of the tape. The tape is vinyl based and therefore low in cost while providing a similar noise reduction as convention cloth tapes. The tape is typically utilized on a harness within an automobile and reduces squeaks when the harness including the tape comes into contact with interior portions of the vehicle which are typically polypropylene, ABS plastic or steel.
Abstract: An economical roadway marking sheeting matrix that includes hydrated alumina as its main inorganic filler is disclosed. Use of hydrated alumina in the roadway marking sheeting matrix results in reduced mixing and production time, reduction of aging time, lower transportation cost due to lower weight, and lower material cost. In a preferred embodiment, hydrated alumina having a particle size of less that one micron and a GE brightness of 94 or more is incorporated as the main filler system in a roadway marking sheeting matrix. The resulting sheeting matrix may then be fabricated into a road marker by bonding to an upper layer which may include glass beads, and to an adhesive layer for attachment to a road surface.
Abstract: A rubber band dispensing container for storing and dispensing rubber bands or like objects. The dispensing container comprises a unitary plastic molded body having a receptacle cover and a confronting base adjoined along a common edge by an integral hinge and further includes cooperative locking members extending outwardly from the edges of the receptacle cover and the base opposite the integral hinge for cooperative engagement therebetween when the dispensing container is in a closed configuration to securely maintain the closed position and to prevent accidental opening thereof. The dispensing container is further provided with a flap for creating a dispenser opening on the receptacle cover for inserting fingers to remove rubber bands or like objects stored therein when the dispensing container is in the closed position.
Abstract: An electrical cable splicing technique in which each joined conductor is insulated with a self-fusing insulator pad of rubber which preferably is fabric reinforced, the insulated conductors then being wrapped with uncured vulcanizable rubber tape to build up the splice to dimensions of a jacket sleeve. The sleeve, which is of molded fabric reinforced rubber, is then installed and bonded to the splice area.
