    Abstract: An air cleaning system (10) is disclosed comprising a fire protection system. The fire protection system comprises at least one of (i) a spark arrestor (21), (ii) a particle feeder (31), (iii) a fire detection system; and (iv) a fire extinguishing system. A preferred spark arrestor comprises a particle pre-separator (22). A preferred particle pre-separator has a core-and-vane assembly that prevents air traveling through the particle pre-separator from traveling in a straight line.
