Patent number: 10469022Abstract: The invention relates to retention systems and, more particularly, for a modular retention apparatus, system and method for securing and leveling a photovoltaic (PV) panel and other objects on a wall, rooftop and other structure to secure and ground electrically. The photovoltaic panel retention assembly utilizes a solar cap with one or more integral elongated flange extensions of a predetermined dimension to provide spacing between PV solar panels and/or to stabilize the solar cap from tipping under installation forces and load in use. The flanges extend through a support bracket configured with a base portion to support adjacent PV panels in a PV panel array and a base platform portion. The solar cap comprises integral teeth on a surface of the solar cap spaced apart from the flanged projections to locate the teeth adjacent a frame of the PV panel for electrical grounding thereof.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 2018Date of Patent: November 5, 2019Assignee: PMC Industries, Inc.Inventor: Tamas Kovacs

Patent number: 4485511Abstract: A rotary die head has radially extendable and retractable thread cutting tools moving in paths of different angularity relative to the workpiece to permit one tool to cut a load flank in the workpiece at one lead and another tool simultaneously to cut a stab flank in the workpiece at a different lead, with the tools commonly generating the thread root, whereby a dual lead tapered thread may be formed on the workpiece in one pass. The respective cutting tools may have chasers with multiple teeth to permit the formation of deeper dual lead tapered threads in one pass. The die head may also have a radially extendable and retractable turning tool commonly driven with but moving in opposite directions from the thread cutting tools, whereby the turning tool when extended may form a seal or thread relief surface on the workpiece while the thread cutting tools are retracted.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 1982Date of Patent: December 4, 1984Assignee: PMC Industries, Inc.Inventor: Robert F. Patent number: 4123194Abstract: A chip breaker includes an abutment surface having geometry generally corresponding in profile to the geometry on the cutting edge of the associated thread chaser to permit such abutment surface to be uniformly spaced from respective roots and crests of the thread chaser and in close proximity thereto when the chaser and breaker are clampingly juxtaposed. The juxtaposed or trailing surface of the chip breaker has angularly biased, parallel grooves therein to deliver coolant past the chaser body and then into the cutting area along the respective flanks of the chip breaker and chaser geometry.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 1977Date of Patent: October 31, 1978Assignee: PMC Industries, Inc.Inventor: Lawrence E. Patent number: 4107848Abstract: A profiler employing an arm which rocks about a fixed axis and carries a stylus for following a profile to be indicated and recorded. During rocking of the arm from, and return to, a normal starting position, the arm is extended by a cam, and spring returned under the control of the cam, so that the surface engaging edge of the stylus follows a lineal path tangent to the arcuate path which the edge would follow were the arm of constant length. The point of tangency of the lineal path is at the position of the surface engaging edge in the normal starting position of the arm. This adapts the profiler for more accurate indications of profiles, especially in profiles in which departures from the mean are large. A second like arm and stylus are provided and arranged so that the stylus edge follows a lineal path coincident with the same tangent. As a result profiles of opposite faces of an article can be traced by the styli, respectively, simultaneously, at points aligned with each other lengthwise of the tangent.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 1977Date of Patent: August 22, 1978Assignee: PMC Industries, Inc.Inventor: James E.
