  • Patent number: 11343595
Abstract: An interactive narrative presentation includes a plurality of narrative segments, with a variety of available media content consumer selectable paths or directions, typically specified by a director or editor. The content consumer can select a path or path segment at each of a number of points, e.g., decision points, in the narrative presentation via user interface elements or narrative prompts, providing the consumer the opportunity to follow a storyline they find interesting. Each consumer follows a “personalized” path through the narrative. The narrative prompts can include images from subsequent segments, may be generated to stylistically resemble the underlying narrative presentation, may be animated to move with or with respect to the underlying narrative presentation, and, or may be presented in overlaid with a presentation of the underlying narrative while the underlying narrative continues play.

  • Patent number: 11159861
Abstract: A narrative includes a number of serially connected narrative segments combined by a director or editor in a defined sequence to tell a story. Quite frequently a number of different narrative segments are available to the director or editor. A content delivery editor provides editors and directors with the ability to augment a standard with additional narrative segments that provide alternate perspectives, view, or insights to the narrative consumer. Such provides the ability to convey the same narrative to the narrative consumer using a number of plots, storylines, or perspectives. Branch points in the narrative, defined by the editor or director, provide the narrative consumer the opportunity to follow a storyline they find interesting. Each narrative consumer follows a “personalized” path through the narrative. Through social media, narrative consumers are able to discuss the narrative path with other narrative consumers who have taken a different path through the narrative.

  • Patent number: 10869107
Abstract: A content distribution system provides access to supplemental content (e.g., social media shares attributable to characters) based on progress of a content consumer in a narrative presentation. The narrative presentation comprises a set of narrative segments that the content consumer may experience using a set of instructions stored on a content consumer device. The content distribution system may determine a current point in time of the content consumer in experiencing the narrative presentation and, as a result of the current point determined, provide access to supplemental content related to the narrative presentation. The supplemental content to which the content consumer is provided access may include a social media instance comprised of social media content. The composition of the social media instance may be based at least in part on the current point in time of the content consumer in experiencing the narrative presentation.

  • Patent number: 10279257
Abstract: A narrative includes a number of serially connected narrative segments combined by a director or editor in a defined sequence to tell a story. A number of different narrative segments are available to the director or editor. A content delivery editor provides editors and directors with the ability to augment a narrative with additional narrative segments that provide alternate perspectives, views, or insights to the consumer. Such allows conveyance of the same narrative to the consumer using a number of plots or perspectives. Branch points in the narrative provide the consumer the opportunity to follow a storyline they find interesting. Each consumer follows a “personalized” path through the narrative. The director or editor may influence selection at branch points by providing priming stimuli prior to presentation of a prompt to select a branch and by optionally providing target stimuli during presentation of the prompt to select a branch.
