Abstract: A bridge is movable transversely to its longitudinal direction. A carrier extends in the longitudinal direction and is mounted on the bridge to be movable in said longitudinal direction. An inclined pole is connected to the carrier and extends upwardly to a top end of the pole from a point of the carrier which is nearer to the mid-point than to each end point of the carrier. A plurality of lower rope holders are provided on the carrier on opposite sides of the mid-point and spaced apart in the longitudinal direction. A plurality of ropes are associated with and connected to respective ones of the lower rope holders. A plurality of vertically spaced apart upper rope holders are secured to the pole. One of the upper rope holders is disposed near the top end. Each of the upper rope holders is connected to two of the ropes which are connected to lower rope holders provided on opposite sides of the mid-point in such a manner that none of the ropes crosses another between the upper and lower rope holders.
Abstract: Apparatus for removing bulk material from dumps, mixed-bed installations or the like. The apparatus includes two horizontally spaced apart, parallel endless roller chains which have side bars and form substantially horizontal upper and lower courses. The chains are driven so that the lower courses move in a predetermined horizontal direction. A plurality of carrying elements are disposed between the chains, each carrying element comprises a frame secured to both chains at respective side bars thereof and a bottom secured to the lower courses to protrude from the frame substantially horizontally opposite to the predetermined horizontal direction and close to the bottom of the next adjacent carrying element. The frame and bottoms of the carrying elements define spaces which are open on both sides.
Abstract: A safety clamping device for a pull-cable arrangement for use in an aerial cableway comprising a pair of clamping jaws provided with cable-clamping cups disposed internally thereof, a plurality of synthetic-resin strips interposed between the cable-clamping cups and the clamping jaws and a spring storage device disposed in pressure relationship between one of the clamping jaws and a pressure plate whereby a frictional coupling is provided for a pull-cable and a trolley under normal operation, but being effective to drop the synthetic-resin strips and release the pull-cable, to detension the spring device in reaction to increase in friction and/or heat as a protection against development of excessive friction and/or heat.
Abstract: A train comprises a towing car and at least one free car connected to the towing car and having a car body. At least one of the free cars is a load-carrying free car, which comprises two pairs of guide rollers and carries a load suspended from the car body. A track carries the train and comprises a lower track rail, which has an upwardly facing backing surface engageable by the guide rollers. A driving chain extends along the track and is operable to move along the track. Coupling is provided for releasably coupling the towing car to the driving chain for movement therewith along the track in such a direction that the towing car precedes the at least one free car.
