Abstract: A pivoting holster hood automatically locks over a handgun within the holster shell in a first pivot position and is selectively pivotable to a second position forward of the holster cavity upon depression of a reciprocating hood actuator that is coupled to a hood plate. A first spring cavity, defined by the first hood plate, and a second spring cavity, defined by the hood actuator are oriented in opposing communication, capturing a compression spring there between. The spring biases the second spring cavity and the hood actuator into a first reciprocated position, which locks the hood through mating engagement of a hood pawl and a notch of the holster shell. The hood actuator releases the hood pawl out of mating engagement with the shell notch, in opposition to the compression spring biasing force, unlocking the hood. In some embodiments, the hood automatically locks in the second position.
Abstract: A subassembly is disclosed. The subassembly includes a cradle portion defining a cavity and a spine portion. The spine portion includes a lower portion, an intermediate portion and an upper portion located between the lower portion and the upper portion. The lower portion of the spine extends into the cavity by way of an opening formed by the cradle portion. The lower portion of the spine is non-removably-coupled to and free-floatingly-disposed within the cavity of the cradle portion. The intermediate portion and the upper portion of the spine portion are connected to a load-interfacing portion. A carrier system is also disclosed. An assembly is also disclosed.

Abstract: The subject matter described herein includes a gun holster transport system. The gun holster transport system comprises a wrapping member for wrapping at least partially around itself to form an aperture for receiving a barrel holding portion of a gun holster. The wrapping member forms first and second arms extending axially from the barrel holding portion and which are positionable on opposite sides of a butt of a gun. The first and second arms each form lock-receiving apertures for receiving a lock positionable behind the butt of the gun to prevent withdraw of the gun from the gun holster.
Abstract: A releasable fastener system includes a first base material and a second base material being fastened together when the fastener system is in a fastened state and released from one another when the fastener system is in a released state. The fastener system further includes a stiffening member fastened to the second base material. A bottom loop is spaced from the first base material such that at least a portion of the stiffening member resides between the bottom loop and the first base material when the fastener system is in the fastened state. A top loop being spaced from the bottom loop such that a portion of the second base material resides between the top and bottom loops when the system is in the fastened state, wherein at least one of the top and bottom loops is fastened to the first base material.
Abstract: A quick release fastening system associated with wearable articles is disclosed. The quick release fastening system includes a hook and loop fastener and a pull cord. A quick release of the fastening system can be accomplished with a frontal pull of the pull cord, which disengages the hook and loop fastener. No hardware is necessary to fasten or release the system. In some forms of the invention, the pull cord partially resides within a conduit that can be attached to or formed through the wearable article. The quick release fastening system is useful in any application wherein two articles need to be releasably fastened, including tactical vest applications of various types.
Abstract: A ballistic panel including two or more layers of ballistic material having a periphery, and a peripheral, liquid impervious edge treatment continuously surrounding the periphery without interruption.
