Abstract: A snowmobile has an air intake system integrated into the snowmobile body, and with air intake vents facing rearwardly towards the rider. The air intake system includes a plenum defined by a portion of the body and ducting extending within the body. The ducting is porous to allow the air input noise to be dissipated within the engine compartment. The snowmobile further comprises couplings which may be realigned to accommodate wear. A frame coupler allows multiple differently configured frame tubes to be connected to the tunnel. The chassis of the snowmobile includes a casing for receiving the gears which drive the belt.

Abstract: A route generator and method of operating the same including; calculating route traversal values for a plurality of blocks in a first group simultaneously, each block including a plurality of cells, traversal values being values that consider terrain movement cost data and data indicating progress towards a route endpoint on a per-cell basis, wherein the plurality of blocks are chosen such that the blocks in the first group fail to share any edges with other blocks in the first group.
Abstract: A snowmobile including a support member mounted to a chassis of the snowmobile and configured to support at least one of a seat and a fuel tank of the snowmobile. A first accessory is in cooperation with the support member and is mounted to the chassis behind the support member.
Abstract: A power steering system reduces or prevents an unintended jerking of a steering input device due to an unintended torque being input into the power steering system from an output of the power steering system. The unintended torque may be determined based on an acceleration of a motor of the power steering system.
Abstract: An all-terrain or utility vehicle includes an audio system having at least one speaker. The at least one speaker is positioned at a forward portion of the operator area and is supported by a body panel. More particularly, the body panel may be configured to receive at least a portion of the speaker as well as at least a portion of an upper frame assembly. In this way, the speaker is positioned to direct sound towards the rider, is generally concealed from a front view of the vehicle, and is positioned within available space on the vehicle above at least a portion of the door.

Abstract: A seating arrangement for a vehicle is shown to include a plurality of seats, including at least two front seats, at least two rear seats, and a rear jump seat positioned intermediate the two rear seats. The jump seat comprises a seat back which is positioned rearwardly of the rear seats, and the rear seats are movable laterally between a first position where the rear seats are proximate to each other and generally covering the seat back of the jump seat, and a second position where the rear seats are spaced apart from each other and the seat back of the jump seat is exposed. The arrangement may also include rear seats which are rotatable relative to the seat backs to provide a storage surface.

Abstract: An all terrain vehicle may include a frame and a plurality of ground-engaging members supporting the frame. Each of the plurality of ground-engaging members may be configured to rotate about an axle. The all terrain vehicle may further include a powertrain assembly supported by the frame and a braking system (e.g., an anti-lock braking system (ABS)) including a hydraulic and electric controller unit (HECU) operably coupled to the plurality of ground-engaging members and configured to generate yaw to reduce a turning radius of the all terrain vehicle. The HECU may be configured to control brake pressure to the plurality of ground-engaging members independent of a driver input indicating a braking event.

Abstract: An engine system and method of operating the same includes a two stroke engine, an exhaust manifold coupled to the two-stroke engine, a tuned pipe coupled to the exhaust manifold coupled to the exhaust manifold, a stinger pipe coupled to the tuned pipe, a silencer coupled to the tuned pipe and an exhaust pipe, and an exhaust bypass valve. Exhaust gases are directed from the two stroke engine through an exhaust manifold and through a tuned pipe. An opening of the exhaust bypass valve is changed to redirect exhaust gases away from the tuned pipe to change a pressure within the tuned pipe. In response to changing the opening of the exhaust bypass valve, the airflow through the engine is changed.
