Abstract: A single-piece plastic body supermarket cart having a load basket and a base into which support wheels are mounted. The basket has a swinging rear wall. Between the swinging rear wall and the side walls are holes covered by corresponding plates that can be pushed against the side walls. These plates are positioned so that they are automatically in the closed position over the holes. The swinging wall has a built-in child seat formed by two plates. A back plate having side wings in combination with grooves located in the side walls serve as stops. The base is provided with a rear extension, where the rear wheels of the cart are mounted. Each wheel is attached by being fastened in a hole in the base.

Abstract: A shopping trolley having a basket (1) mounted on a support structure (4) and a user handle (5). The support structure is mounted on a wheeled carriage (2). The basket is openable at its rear to permit nesting of similar trolleys, and the rear opening is closed by a swinging flap (18) which is made up of a single plastics molding incorporating the basket (1) the support structure (4) and the wheeled carriage (2). Preferably the shopping trolley may have one or more generally flat areas (6) on the front and/or side walls of the basket (1). The areas (6) are surrounded by retaining ribs (7), and (6) are adapted for the insertion of advertising plates (20).
