  • Patent number: 4922557
Abstract: The waste material holding tank located within a portable, outdoor toilet cabana is vented to atmosphere by a vent pipe extending upwardly from the tank to the roof of the toilet cabana. A small, electrical blower fan is mounted upon the upper, open end of the vent pipe for sucking air from the holding tank and blowing the air to outside atmosphere. A solar energy panel is mounted upon the roof of the cabana near the fan and is electrically connected to the fan. The panel generates electrical energy in response to a predetermined level of sunlight for electrically energizing the fan. Thus, the fan circulates air through the holding tank during the items that the sun is shining upon the cabana, to reduce the solar heat build-up in the holding tank for reducing the generation of noxious odors caused by heat induced reactions in the waste material in the tank.

  • Patent number: 4918765
Abstract: A portable toilet cabana is formed of four, wide, relatively resilient sheet plastic walls whose adjacent vertical edges are connected together by narrow sheet plastic panels that are roughly a quarter of the width of the walls to form an octagon-like enclosure with alternating wide and narrow sides. The widths of the walls are close to the maximum width limit at which the walls tend to buckle, so that the panels enlarge the enclosure. The adjacent edges of the walls and panels are bent into flanges that are interconnected. A vertically-extending channel is bent along the middle portion of each panel, and a vertically outwardly-extending channel is bent close to each of the edges of the walls, so that the channels and connected flanges form reinforcement columns for the cabana.

  • Patent number: 4895400
Abstract: A slide latch for latching the leading edge of a door, formed of a plastic panel, to an adjacent jamb-like member, is formed of a narrow, thin, horizontally elongated, flat plate positioned upon the door surface for sliding movement towards and away from the jamb-like member. Integral, narrow, rigid flanges, forming sled-like runners, are formed along the horizontally elongated side edges of the slider for slidable engagement with the panel surface. The slider is held within an open-ended, horizontally elongated, flattened loop that is struck-out of the panel. Stops are formed near the opposite ends of the slider for engaging the ends of the loops and thereby limiting the sliding movement of the slider. One of the stops may be enlarged to form a manual grip for moving the slider.

  • Patent number: 4637299
Abstract: A vent opening for a portable building wall forming panel made of a thin, plastic sheet is formed by a series of aligned, roughly rectangular shaped, box-like depressions in the sheet to provide a series of depressed longitudinal and end walls which are integral with the panel and the respective bases of the depressions. A series of aligned openings are formed by cutting away the depression end walls and the bases, except for narrow base portion strips at the longitudinal walls. This provides longitudinal flanges that are integral with the panel and with their free edges terminating in integral flange strips which are substantially in the same plane. The junctures of the longitudinal walls with their adjacent panel portions, which define the openings, form an acute angle.

  • Patent number: 4577351
Abstract: A portable toilet cabana is formed of four relatively resilient, sheet plastic walls joined together along their vertical edges by an impact protective and structural stiffening corner joint. The adjacent vertical edges are formed with parallel, narrow flanges bent about 45.degree. out of the planes of their sheets and an extruded T-shaped connector is arranged with its stem between the flanges and its head overlapping the free edges of the flanges. Mechanical fasteners extend through, and laminate together, the pairs of aligned flanges and the connector stem. Narrow, vertical, bumper forming channels are integrally formed in each of the sheets adjacent their corner flanges and extend outwardly of the walls a sufficient distance to protect the corners against impacts to the sides of the cabana and yet, are close enough together so that the pair of adjacent bumpers can be grasped in one hand for moving the cabana.
