Patents Assigned to Poly-Seal Corporation
  • Patent number: 6896160
Abstract: A disc top dispensing closure which includes a body having an opening and an actuator having a channel mounted to the closure body. The actuator is pivotable between an open position, wherein the channel and the opening of the body form a continuous fluid path, and a closed position, wherein the channel and the opening of the body do not form a continuous fluid path. The actuator is also rotatable between a locked position, wherein the actuator is not movable between the open and the closed position, and an unlocked position, wherein the actuator is movable between the open and the closed position.

  • Patent number: 6065648
Abstract: A child resistant dispenser including an outer shell and an inner shell which are fixedly attached to and non-removable from a container. The outer shell includes an orifice in fluid connection with the container, and the inner shell includes a seal peg for obstructing the orifice when the dispenser is in the closed position. The dispenser includes a plurality of lugs which fit within and are movable along a plurality of sloped races. The races may include two or more portions having differing slopes. The inner and outer shells include a plurality of latches which are engageable and disengageable with each other. An inwardly directed force on at least one pressure point allows for disengagement of the latches and permits rotation of the outer shell, allowing the outer shell to move axially relative to the inner shell, thereby unplugging the orifice. Rotation in the opposite direction will move the outer shell axially downward, thereby replugging the orifice.

  • Patent number: 5765705
Abstract: A child resistant closure including a container and a cap. The container includes a body portion defining a chamber, and a hollow neck extending from the body portion. The cap is formed to fit around the neck and includes a base portion and a lid portion connected to the base portion with a hinge. At least one first engagement portion extends from a lever portion attached to the base portion, and is positioned to engage at least one second engagement portion that is integrally formed in the lid portion. The engagement portions are located off set from a location diametrically opposite the hinge. The closure is in a locked position when the first engagement portion engages the second engagement portion. The closure is moved to an unlocked position when the lever portion is pushed inwardly to disengage the first engagement portion from the second engagement portion.

  • Patent number: 5706962
Abstract: A child resistant safety closure including a body portion defining a chamber, a hollow neck extending from said body portion and having an outside surface, and a container screw thread formed on said outside surface of said neck and extending circumferentially around an axis. A ring encircles said neck of said container and has an outer ring surface and an inner ring surface. A cap having an inner cap surface and a cap screw thread formed on said cap inner surface engages said container screw thread when said cap is twisted onto said container. A pair of interface surfaces located between said inner ring surface and said outside surface of said neck, and between said inner cap surface and said outer ring surface supports a safety mechanism that includes a lug and a recess, which slides over said lug, and two sets of ratchets, which engage each other more closely as said recess slides over said lug, but which slide over each other when said recess is prohibited from rotating.

  • Patent number: 4752014
Abstract: A container and safety closure therefor includes a hollow container having an externally threaded tubular neck defining a tubular opening into the container. An outer surface area of the container extending outwardly from and adjacent to the neck or portion of the neck or stepped portion thereof or an attached ring has a plurality of recesses extending inwardly. An internal threaded closure adapted to screw on to and off the threaded neck is provided with a web formed integral with a lower edge of the closure and extends outwardly from one side thereof adjacent to the neck. A tab extends upwardly from the web. A pawl formed integrally with either an under surface of the web or in an inwardly facing vertical surface on the web or an outwardly facing surface of the tab is provided to engage the recesses in the container or neck thereof or in the ring when the closure is threadably moved downwardly on the neck. The upstanding tab extends upwardly from distal end of the web.

  • Patent number: 4744481
Abstract: A sealing closure for a container, such as bottles, jars and the like includes a threaded cap and a single-piece gasket of resilient material. The interior surface of the top of the threaded cap is provided with a plurality of radially extending ribs in the vicinity of its periphery. The peripheral portion of the single-piece gasket contacts the ribs, the cap being positionable over the rim of the neck of a container and in threaded engagement therewith to seal the container. The gasket may be of frusto-conical shape with a longitudinal sleeve thereon, the sleeve fitting over a central stud which is integral with the cap. The stud may be so dimensioned and shaped in cross-section, and the sleeve similarly shaped and dimensioned to prevent relative turning of the cap and gasket with respect to one another during opening and closing of a container with the closure.
