    Abstract: Disclosed is a olefin resin composition comprising a propylene resin (PP) and an ethylene resin (PE) at a PP:PE mixing ratio of 97 to 60:3 to 40 by weight, the propylene resin and the ethylene resin having such dynamic melt viscoelasticity that the PE to PP viscosity ratio, i.e., .eta.r=.eta.PE/.eta.PP, is more than or equal to 0.1 and less than 1 at 1 rad/sec and more than or equal to 0.70 at 100 rad/sec and that the difference of modulus of melt elasticity between PP and PE, i.e., .DELTA.G'=GPP-GPE, is 10000 Pa or more; an olefin sheet comprising the olefin resin composition; and an olefin resin laminated sheet having a surface layer and an intermediate layer in which the intermediate layer comprises the olefin resin composition.

    Abstract: A pressure-sensitive adhesive tape which is a laminate made up of (1) a woven fabric layer whose warp and weft are thermoplastic-resin-made flat yarns, (2) a layer of polyethylene having a density (D) of 0.875 to 0.917 kg/cm.sup.3 and an MFR of 1 to 25 g/10 min, laminated to one surface or both surfaces of the woven fabric layer, and (3) a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer laminated to the polyethylene layer (2), wherein the laminate fulfills the following relationship:W.ltoreq.-0.03T+2.4in which T represents the thickness (.mu.m) of the polyethylene layer, and W represents the tear strength (kg) of the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape in the crosswise direction thereof, wherein the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape can be cut by hand in the direction rectangular to the longer direction of the tape.

C., notched) of not less than 5 kJ/m.sup.2 and a flexural modulus of not less than 500 MPa, wherein as measured by electron spectroscopy for chemical analysis, the ratio of the valence electron spectral intensity at a bond energy of 16.5 eV to the valence electron spectral intensity at a bond energy of 13.5 eV, I 16.5/I 13.5, is in the range of 1.6 to 2.0.There is also provided a method for evaluating a propylene resin composition, which comprises subjecting a propylene resin composition to electron spectroscopy for chemical analysis to measure the ratio of the valence electron spectral intensity at a bond energy of 16.5 eV to the valence electron spectral intensity at a bond energy of 13.5 eV, I 16.5/I 13.5; and evaluating, based on the ratio, the amount of a rubber component present on the surface of the composition.

    Abstract: In accordance with the teachings of the present invention, a waste water treatment system for removing sludge from within a rectangular clarifying tank as provided. The waste water treatment system includes a plurality of sludge collector flights attached to a pair of parallel chains for collecting sludge and scum within the waste water. Each of the collector flights includes a non-metallic elongated main body portion having spaced top and bottom walls connected by spaced front and rear walls for defining a hollow, interior cavity. Buoyant foam material is disposed within the interior cavity for increasing the buoyancy of the collector flight. The waste water treatment system further includes integrated plastic bull and drive sprockets and a chain drive assembly for driving a pair of parallel drive chains attached to the integrated plastic bull and drive sprockets. The chain drive assembly includes dual drive shafts exterior to the waste water with each extending across half the width of the tank.

    Abstract: In accordance with the teachings of the present invention, a composite non-metallic and metallic chain for use in a waste water treatment system is provided. The chain includes a plurality of non-metallic chain link barrel connecting elements including central teeth receiving portions. Each of the barrel elements include first and second end portions extending from opposite ends of the teeth receiving portion. A plurality of metallic side bar members interconnect the non-metallic barrel elements and are rotatably coupled to the end portions of the barrel elements. A plurality of non-metallic bearing members are disposed about the end portions of the barrel elements between adjacent metallic side bar members for reducing friction and wear between the adjacent side bar members. A plurality of non-metallic clip members are secured with indentations formed in the end portions of the barrel elements for securing the metallic side bar members thereto.

    Abstract: A propylene resin extruded article comprising 100 parts by weight of a propylene resin, 0.03 to 2 parts by weight of a metal salt of a rosin compound, 0.01 to 1 part by weight of a tertiary amine light stabilizer, and 0.01 to 0.5 part by weight of an aromatic phosphite and/or phosphonite antioxidant, and a propylene resin extruded article further comprising 0.01 to 0.5 part by weight of an antistatic agent in addition to the above components. The resin compound comprising the above components does not contaminate extrusion equipment, and the extruded articles are excellent in transparency, hue, thermal aging resistance and, when the antistatic agent is used, are excellent in antistatic property.
