Patents Assigned to Polyglot Systems, Inc.
  • Patent number: 7359861
Abstract: A computer system with an appropriate set of instructions to allow the computer system to serve as a translation device for use in a structured interview between an interviewer using a first language and an interviewee in a second language in order to minimize or eliminate that need for a human translator during the acquisition of routine information. Problems addressed include: determination of the appropriate language for use as the second language, the use of a single display screen through the use of a toggle function to toggle from the first language to the second language, delivery of context sensitive audio files while controlling the number of screens to be created and presented to the interviewer, and the creation of a set of discharge instructions. A preferred set of hardware and a mobile cart is discussed.

  • Publication number: 20070203907
Abstract: A user interface for capturing user input for a non-uniform pattern of N quantities associated with a set of N time periods. The user interface allows the capture of the N quantities without the need to input N separate values. One implementation allows the user to input a sequence of step changes. Other implementations allow the user to select a pattern and provide a few parameters so that a non-uniform pattern of step changes is created by the system. Some implementations may allow subsequent adjustment of the created pattern. One use of this user interface is to capture medication instructions to either ramp up the dose of a medication or to taper down a dose of medication. These instructions may be communicated electronically to other systems, stored, or printed. • Publication number: 20060100850
Abstract: An instruction generation system and related methods to allow a user using inputs to prompts in a first language to generate written and audio instructions in a second language to an instruction recipient. An instruction generation system can be used by a health care provider to provide instructions related to new medications to be administered to a patient or to the stopping or avoiding of certain medications by a patient. The instruction generation system can be deployed without the capacity for on-the-fly translation as the system maps the instruction concepts and context for the instructions onto previously stored written and audio instructions for presentation to the instruction recipient. This abstract is a tool for those searching for relevant disclosures and not a limit on the scope of the claims.
