Abstract: The invention relates to a two-stage injection-molding machine with a fixed mold plate, a movable mold plate and a two-part intermediate assembly, arranged to be movable between said plates, and with a supply of injection-molding material for the intermediate assembly to supply the stages formed between the intermediate assembly and the mold plates with injection-molding material. In order to simplify the production of injection-molded parts of different colors in one and the same injection-molding process it is proposed, in accordance with the invention, that for each stage there has been provided a separate supply of injection-molding material via a separate main channel. In addition to the free choice of the color for each stage, it is possible to use various types of plastic per stage in one and the same injection-molding process.

Abstract: A method and a device exactly aligning a printing image relative to a geometrically correct print position of a printing machine for printing carriers, for example CDs, which employ use of a printing foil having a hole system which has been aligned relative to the image center and being secured to a printing screen having locating bores which have been aligned relative to the image center and which correspond to locating pins of the printing machine which have been aligned relative to the carrier center.

Abstract: A system is provided which records reproduces signals on/from a magnetic tape in a cassette in longitudinal tracks in two track patterns in two adjacent tape zones which are inscribed/read in opposite directions. The cassettes are non-reversible and comprise one imperforate main wall. Without exception the associated apparatuses comprise, as a standard feature, recording/reproducing signals in the two opposite directions without reversal of the cassette. The system may be constructed as a two-standard system suitable for use with both reversible and non-reversible cassettes in conformity with non-compatible standards on two-standard apparatuses.

Abstract: A digital audio signal is reproduced from a master medium (7) and stored in a digital storage medium (10, 90, 90') at a specific first bit rate, after which it is read from the digital storage medium and recorded on a recording medium at a second bit rate. The digital audio signal, in the form of a first digital information signal having channel words of n data bits, is stored in a track (Ta.i) on the master medium. This signal is converted in an n-m demodulator (9, 15), the n-bit channel words being converted into m-bit information words, where n>m. After this the signal is stored in the digital storage medium (90, 90') as a second digital information signal. After read out from the storage medium (90, 90') the second digital information signal is converted into a third digital information signal, which substantially corresponds to the first digital information signal, in an m-n modulator (11, 36), in whcih the m-bit information words are reconverted into n-bit channel words.

Abstract: A storage bin (3) in which at least a part of the tape is stored as a package of tape loops (2a) has main walls (4), an entrance wall (5) and an exit wall (9), the walls (5, 9) being formed with an entrance slot (6) and an exit slot (10) respectively, and outlet openings of first and second pneumatic elements (15, 20) being provided near both slots to assist in the feed-in and feed-out of the tape. The main walls (4) of the bin (3) are disposed vertically or substantially vertically, the entrance slot (6) being situated near the upper side and the exit slot (9) near the lower side of the bin. At least one of the main walls (4) of the bin comprises a discharge element (16) allowing fluid to escape from the bin, which discharge element (16) is spaced from the entrance wall (5) and from the exit wall (9).

Abstract: A copying apparatus (1) for copying a magnetic pattern from a master magnetic tape (5) on a duplicate magnetic tape (6) comprises two facing elongate platens (9, 10) having mutually parallel gap sides (9A, 10A) which bound a gap (13). Copying means (20) are provided to promote the signal transfer from the master to the duplicate magnetic tape. In the gap sides (9A, 10A) of the platens (9, 10) passages (18) are arranged, through which passages a pressurized fluid is fed into the gap (13), so that the tapes are intimately pressed against one another inside the gap (13). In the gap sides (9A, 10A) expulsion means (16A, 10E, 10K, 23) are provided to expel air present between the tapes, the expulsion means in each gap side, in a view at the gap side, being arranged in at least one V-shape having an axis of symmetry which extends substantially parallel to the longitudinal direction of the platens (9, 10), at least a number of the passages being situated within the outline of the V-shape.

Abstract: In a method of aligning objects and in particular, of aligning optically readable disc-shaped information carrier. The objects are preferably optically scanned line-by-line in a direction transverse to their direction of movement. A reference picture line with an optically characteristic picture content is detected to allow alignment relative to known positions. To detect the reference picture line, the picture contents of all the picture lines are compared with each other and the corresponding correlation coefficients are determined. The reference picture line is that picture line whose picture content correlates least with the picture content of any other picture line.

Abstract: A magnetic-tape-cassette apparatus has a loading device which prevents improper insertion of a digital audio tape cassette having a slide for closing the cassette openings. The cassette has a U-shaped slide which, in the closed position, defines one side of a slot extending halfway up to opposite side wall of the cassette housing and across the bottom wall of the cassette housing. The loading device has two positioning elements, a respective one near each side of the loading device bottom section, arranged so that the positioning elements engage the parts of the slot extending up the side walls when the cassette is properly inserted on the bottom section of the loading device.

Abstract: Tray (1) for receiving and retaining a rigid circular information disc (4). Can be inserted into a storage cassette (28) and comprises a recess (3) and retaining means (7, 15, 16) for retaining the information disc (4) in the recess (3). The tray (1), which constitutes an easy-to-remove and easy-to-introduce insert for the storage cassette, is constructed as a drawer-type insert for a playing apparatus. The retaining means (7, 15, 16), which include one resilient retaining means (7), are arranged opposite one another on the edge of the recess (3).

Abstract: The invention relates to a method of transmitting audio information in digital form, in which for the transmission of additional information in digital form data bits of said additional information replace one or a plurality of least significant bits in every n.sup.th code word of the audio information. For this purpose one or a plurality of least significant bits of the audio information in every n.sup.th code word is/are replaced in predetermined manner by additional information bits, the number of bits being replaced depending on the value of the instantaneous code word of the audio information. This dependence is such that for larger values of the audio information more bits are replaced than for smaller values.

Abstract: The invention relates to disc-shaped information carriers which can be read optically in reflection and which contain an annular information zone which is bounded by a concentric inner zone and a concentric outer zone. The information carrier consists of a transparent substrate and has a readout side and opposite side (back) which at least in the information zone has a reflective coating. The light entering the outer zone from the readout side is reflected at least partially diffusely or absorbed by the information carrier. In this way, manufacturing defects such as, for example, inclusions, inhomogeneities etc. are at least partially masked or concealed.

Said liquids are contained in treating compartments and are used to remove water which adheres to the surface of objects immersed in the treating liquids. The objects may consist of, for example, glass, ceramic, nickel, copper, stainless steel or synthetic resin such as, for example, disc-shaped information carriers.

Abstract: Within the housing of a magnetic tape cassette, two liner foils bear against turns of magnetic tape on each of two reel hubs. Each reel hub has an inner ring and an outer ring, the inner ring being longer axially than the outer ring, and arranged so that each liner foil bears elastically against the respective axial ends of the inner and outer rings of each reel hub adjacent that foil. Each cassette main wall has two drive openings aligned with the respective reel hubs. Each opening has a centering rim for the reel hub, and a concentric flat supporting rim having an inner diameter larger than the outer diameter of the reel hub, for supporting the liner foil adjacent that cassette main wall. The distance between opposed supporting rings is greater than the sum of the width of the magnetic tape and the thicknesses of the two foils.
