Abstract: A method is described for manufacturing a display. The method includes providing a display layer for displaying an image having at least a luminosity component, providing a color filter layer comprising a color filter for filtering the image according to a predetermined pattern, and removably attaching the color filter layer to the display layer. Dependent on the outcome of a test on the product provided with the removably attached color filter layer it may be decided to remove the color filter layer.

Abstract: A color display, and an electronic apparatus comprising the color display, are described herein. The display comprises an illumination unit overlaid with a color filter arranged with a plurality of color filter elements, wherein respective transmissions of the color filter elements are adjustable to allow either transmission for a selected wavelength in said range of wavelengths, or transmission for a number of wavelengths from said range of wavelengths. Such adjustable transmission may be implemented using actuatable fluids which may be controlled by means of electrowetting.
