Abstract: A spraying nozzle of an installation for varnishing hollow bodies from their interiors and especially for varnishing metallic tubes or cans are connected with a spraying nozzle supporting device by a pivotal joint. In the driven out position of the supporting device when the nozzles are out of the hollow bodies, the spraying nozzles can be rotated through an angle and positioned in a tubular clearing device of a purification plant. The article to be sprayed and the spray nozzle are arranged so that the nozzles and the article may be moved relatively to cause the nozzle to enter into the article and move along its interior and spray the article interior as relative movement between the article and the nozzle is carried out and the nozzle and the article, and a cleaning apparatus are arranged so that the nozzle and the article can move relatively for drawing the nozzle out of the article and they can be shifted relatively through an angle and positioned into cooperative engagement with the cleaning apparatus.
Abstract: To change the surface tension of cup-like containers by means of corona treatment, the containers are placed on a mandrel and are moved by drive wheels in such a way that the cup-like container is caused to roll off on the mandrel with the inside of the wall. Via an electrode the discharge current is supplied across the discharge gap to the cup-like container and it is removed via the mandrel, which is connected as counter-electrode. To avoid a discharge gap on the inside of the wall, the mandrel has connected to it a guide shoe which always applies against the inside of the wall.
Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing a sandwich web comprises first and second rotatable applicator rollers which are mounted so as to form an adjustable first roller nip therebetween adjacent adhesive applicator means which applies a film of adhesive to each of the applicator rollers for coating on respective sides of a substrate web. The apparatus includes a pivotal arm which contains a first laminating roller which forms a nip with the first applicator roller so that a laminating web may be fed thereover to engage the adhesive on one side of the substrate. In addition, a second laminating roller is contained by the pivotal arm and it may be brought into association with the first laminating roller to form a third roller nip so that a second liner may be laminated to the adhesive on the opposite face of the substrate.
Abstract: A viscous coating such as ink or material for surfacing a medium is transferred under pressure from a pressure chamber within a wetting container through a regulating opening and impinges on the surface of a transfer roller in such manner that the flow from the regulating opening is counter to the direction of rotation of the applicator roller. The required quantity of viscous coating medium on the applicator roller is transferred directly onto either a medium conveyor, a printing form or an inking roller.
