  • Patent number: 4303016
Abstract: This chair-lift cab for telpher lines has its seat protected by a shell pivoted about a transverse axis close to its center of gravity, at the front end of a bow pivoted in turn about another transverse axis at the rear of the first axis and close to the center of gravity of the bow and shell assembly, the upper portion of the shell being connected laterally to the frame structure of the chair-lift by means of arms pivoted at their ends, so that the space in front of the seat is cleared when the shell is tipped to its open position as a consequence of its double rotation about the two transverse axes, thus providing a balancing action insensible to gravity and dynamic forces.

  • Patent number: 4297951
Abstract: The invention relates to a detachable grip of a mono-cable transport installation. The grip has a pair of jaws which is both pivotally mounted on a spindle and urged into a clamping position by means of a compression spring which acts on a piston connected by link-rods to the operating shanks of the jaws. In the clamping position the gauge of the grip is not increased.

  • Patent number: 4269123
Abstract: The safety device detects the derailment of a cable and/or the loss of one or more sheaves of a rocker supporting the cable. It includes a pivotable cross-piece which extends over the side-plates of the rocker and is prolonged laterally to form a component for catching the derailed cable. An appendix can form a temporary support for the cable when a sheave 10, 12 is lost. The pivoting of a crosspiece cuts the safety-line conductor to signal a problem condition. The device can be applied to a gondola lift.

  • Patent number: 4210019
Abstract: Overhead cable transport installation including a device for testing the clamping of the grips coupling a gondola carriage on to the cable. A test wheel is driven with a speed synchronous with that of the cable before the carriage is engaged on the test wheel and is braked during the slip detection phase.

  • Patent number: 4154171
Abstract: The invention relates to a skilift or chairlift having cable supporting wheels arranged in the form of an inverted V to allow the passing of the grips between the wheels. The wheel has a lining shaped as a half pneumatic tire and made of a quasi inelastic wear resistant material.

  • Patent number: 4149471
Abstract: The gondola for an aerial ropeway comprises on a same lateral side two access openings extending from top to bottom and adapted to be cleared by pivotal movements of two portions of the gondola wall. It comprises a central ring rigid with the carrier frame and a pair of molded plastic half-shells constituting these two portions and adapted to pivot about separate axes away from a narrow side of the central ring while surrounding the opposite wide side thereof in order to clear two apertures on each side of a pair of bench seats disposed back to back. This arrangement is applicable to automatic opening and closing gondolas.

  • Patent number: 4049999
Abstract: A speed control system for a chairlift which reproduces automatically at the arrival of a seat in the disembarking station the speed which this seat had in the embarking station. The speed information is applied to a shift-register or a magnetic recorder which restores this information to control the speed at the arrival.

  • Patent number: 3931769
Abstract: This cabin gondola or car for ropeway, intended for transporting passengers between two stations on a rope driving a plurality of disconnectable cabins or cars, has an automatic door opening and closing mechanism and the two doors are slidably mounted on the same side of the two-shell cabin housing for closing corresponding apertures somewhat spaced so as to leave a solid wall section therebetween, the mechanism actuating said doors causing same to be superposed to each other against said solid wall portion, a pair of bench-forming seats being disposed transversely and back-to-back, very close to each other, in the tranverse space extending normally to said solid wall portion.
