Patent number: 4662285Abstract: Aerial chairlift comprising at the loading station two separate loading areas spaced apart along the travel path of the chairs. Each loading area comprises separate lanes for queuing skiers normally closed by gates. A traffic control system for controlling boarding of the chairlift is actuated by the arrival of chairs at a predetermined location for causing alternate opening of the gates so that the successive chairs are loaded at separate loading areas.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 1981Date of Patent: May 5, 1987Assignee: Pomagalski S.A.Inventor: Robert Rossignol

Patent number: 4641585Abstract: The invention relates to a detachable grip chairlift or gondola lift terminal having a transfer rail extending between the downhill run and the uphill run of the cable. The chair trucks run at slow speed along the transfer rail which comprises a movable rail section extending along the loading and/or unloading area. The level of the movable rail section may be adapted in accordance with the snow level on this area for properly positioning the chairs.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 1984Date of Patent: February 10, 1987Assignee: Pomagalski, S.A.Inventor: Serge Tarassoff

Patent number: 4641584Abstract: A detachable chair or gondola lift is disclosed wherein an alternator is driven by a rope bull-wheel. The alternator supplies a synchronous motor for driving friction wheels or other mechanisms for driving the cars in an end station of the chair or gondola lift. The electrical connection between the alternator and the synchronous motor ensures synchronous rotation of the motor. The alternator can be connected to the bull-wheel by a multiplier gear, the bull-wheel being either a tension bull-wheel or a driving bull-wheel. In the case of a tension bull-wheel, the alternator is mounted on the bull-wheel support carriage to avoid a flexible mechanical transmission. The alternator can be coupled to the high speed shaft of a driving bull-wheel reducer gear, for example, by a trapizoidal belt transmission. At low speed, the excitation of the alternator is increased to preserve the synchronism of the movements.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 1985Date of Patent: February 10, 1987Assignee: Pomagalski, S.A.Inventor: Jean-Jacques Bertrand

Patent number: 4640197Abstract: A rocker arm assembly (12), supporting the rope of an aerial tramway installation, comprises sheaves (14, 16), the spindles (18, 20) of which are fitted enabling their disassembly, cantilevered from an arm (22) fitted on the inward facing side of the sheaves. The arm (22), made of moulded material, has a rope catcher shoe (66), which protrudes on the outward facing side of the sheaves. A detector of excessive rocker arm (22) swing, due to the rope falling on the catcher shoe (66) or to a sheave being lost, is incorporated in the boss of the arm and protrudes into a shearing groove in the articulation spindle of the arm (22).Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1985Date of Patent: February 3, 1987Assignee: Pomagalski SAInventor: Rene Brian

Patent number: 4617829Abstract: Monitoring of the clamping of the grips 10 of a detachable gondola lift or chair lift is carried out when the grip passes on a ramp 18 constituted by a T-shaped section. Over a measurement section 1, the base 24 of the T is separated from the upright 26 by a notch 28 to give the base 24 a certain flexibility. The deformation of the base 24, due to the action of the grip operating lever, is measured by a proximity detector 34, which delivers a signal analyzed by an electronic circuit compensating for any drift which may occur. As a result, the invention can be applied to measure the clamping of moving vehicles in general.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 1985Date of Patent: October 21, 1986Assignee: Pomagalski S.A.Inventor: Serge Tarassoff

Patent number: 4563955Abstract: Chairlift or gondola lift with a carriage supporting a gondola or a chair and having a detachable grip for coupling on a continuously moving cable. In the terminals the carriage is uncoupled from the cable and it runs on a transfer rail. This transfer rail is equipped with friction drive wheels disposed along the carriage travel path for engaging the friction face of a running plate rigidly secured to the carriage so as to brake, accelerate or drive the carriage on the rail. During the night or bad weather periods a cover plate covers the friction face of the carriages disposed on the line and this cover plate is raised away in the terminals to clear the friction face. For removing the snow or ice which covers the friction face and hinders the correct friction drive of the carriage a brushing or rubbing device may be disposed along the carriage travel path so as to brush the friction face.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 1984Date of Patent: January 14, 1986Assignee: Pomagalski S.A.Inventor: Serge Tarassoff

Patent number: 4441430Abstract: Aerial monocable chairlift or gondola lift having detachable grips for coupling the chairs or gondolas to the continuously moving cable. Each grip, in the form of a plier, has a pair of jaws, the outer profile of the jaws being so designed that the grip passes on support sheaves, hold down sheaves and horizontal wheels in the station. The clamping coil spring is inserted between the ends of the plier levers and extends substantially parallel to the hanger bar articulated on the grip body. A grip operating roller opens the jaws at a platform in the station and the speed of the chair is reduced for loading and/or unloading of the passengers before the grip is again coupled to the cable.Type: GrantFiled: December 24, 1981Date of Patent: April 10, 1984Assignee: Pomagalski S.A.Inventor: Max Brochand

Patent number: 4303016Abstract: This chair-lift cab for telpher lines has its seat protected by a shell pivoted about a transverse axis close to its center of gravity, at the front end of a bow pivoted in turn about another transverse axis at the rear of the first axis and close to the center of gravity of the bow and shell assembly, the upper portion of the shell being connected laterally to the frame structure of the chair-lift by means of arms pivoted at their ends, so that the space in front of the seat is cleared when the shell is tipped to its open position as a consequence of its double rotation about the two transverse axes, thus providing a balancing action insensible to gravity and dynamic forces.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 1979Date of Patent: December 1, 1981Assignees: Pomagalski S.A., Sigma PlastiqueInventor: Francis Tauzin

Patent number: 4297951Abstract: The invention relates to a detachable grip of a mono-cable transport installation. The grip has a pair of jaws which is both pivotally mounted on a spindle and urged into a clamping position by means of a compression spring which acts on a piston connected by link-rods to the operating shanks of the jaws. In the clamping position the gauge of the grip is not increased.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 1979Date of Patent: November 3, 1981Assignee: Pomagalski S.A.Inventor: Roger Laurent

Patent number: 4269123Abstract: The safety device detects the derailment of a cable and/or the loss of one or more sheaves of a rocker supporting the cable. It includes a pivotable cross-piece which extends over the side-plates of the rocker and is prolonged laterally to form a component for catching the derailed cable. An appendix can form a temporary support for the cable when a sheave 10, 12 is lost. The pivoting of a crosspiece cuts the safety-line conductor to signal a problem condition. The device can be applied to a gondola lift.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 1979Date of Patent: May 26, 1981Assignee: Pomagalski S.A.Inventor: Andre Segafredo

Patent number: 4220095Abstract: Transport installation with overhead cable and device for monitoring the cable-supporting components. With each rocker is associated a conductor wire sectioning device for cutting the safety line and extending over the length of the train of sheaves. The sectioning may be brought about by the unlatching of a spring acting on a shear in case of excessive pivoting of the rocker or a derailment of the cable.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 1978Date of Patent: September 2, 1980Assignee: S.A.
