Abstract: An in-floor pool cleaning system for controllably directing pressurized water from a pump to surface regions of a pool or spa. The system comprises a plurality of zone outlets each terminating at a nozzle disposed in a surface of the pool or spa and each controlled to an opened condition responsive to a control signal supplied to an associated zone valve. A controller supplying the control signals to each valve according to a schedule that sets forth the opened-state time, the closed-state time, and the opened state duration for each zone valve. The valves are individually controllable. A normally-opened bypass outlet is controllable to a closed state when one or more of the zone valves is in an opened state, and controllable to an opened state to supply water to the pool responsive to detection of a system over-pressurization or a system loss of power.
