A response object type of the response object is determined. The response object is validated, including by determining whether the response object is formatted in a manner associated with the response object type and includes one or more required values associated with the response object type. A shipping event related operation is performed using data comprising the response object based at least in part on a determination that the response object is formatted in the manner associated with the response object type and includes one or more required values associated with the response object type.
