Publication number: 20240299870Abstract: The instant disclosure is directed to seamless filtration media and methods for their use. A medium may comprise at least one seamless filtration component, which may comprise a plurality of bonded polymeric fibers and have a porosity from about 60% to about 95%. The medium may comprise multiple, concentrically arranged seamless filtration components, each having a hollow cylindrical configuration. A method of filtering a fluid stream may comprise placing such a medium in the fluid stream, thereby removing particles from the fluid stream. The at least one seamless filtration component of the medium may comprise a plurality of bonded polymeric fibers and have a porosity from about 60% to about 95%. The fluid stream may have a temperature of up to about 150° C. and the particles may have an average diameter from about 0.1 ?m to about 5 ?m. The fluid stream may be located within a CCV system.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 8, 2022Publication date: September 12, 2024Applicant: Porex Technologies CorporationInventors: David Bradley HARRIS, Janie Molver WIERZBICKI, Qiang ZHOU, Michael Wayne SPENCER, Judith Lee SEBASTIAN

Publication number: 20240083192Abstract: The instant disclosure is directed to a heterogeneous fiber fluid reservoir for holding and delivering fluid. A reservoir may comprise a rod having a core component and a surrounding component. Each of the core component and the surrounding component may comprise fibers. The core component may have a first property, and the surrounding component may have a second property different from the first property, or the core component and the surrounding component may each have a different value or range of values for the same property. Alternatively, a reservoir may comprise a rod that includes fibers and has a cross-sectional diameter. At least one property of the rod may vary in value along the cross-sectional diameter of the rod. The property may include, for example, fiber bulk density, fiber diameter, fiber material, fiber morphology, fiber surface tension, capillary force, fluid absorption capacity, color, or combinations thereof.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 22, 2023Publication date: March 14, 2024Applicant: Porex Technologies CorporationInventors: David Bradley HARRIS, Kevin SPORRER, Janie WIERZBICKI, Ronald Eugene BILLUPS, Yelena ROGOVA, Thomas E. Patent number: 10537656Abstract: An absorbent wound dressing comprises a hydrophilic porous substrate and polymer-stabilized silver nanoparticles distributed throughout the porous substrate. The silver nanoparticles have a particle size d50 in the range of about 45 nm to about 85 nm and the silver nanoparticles are present in the substrate in an amount of about 0.16% to about 1.5% by weight of the total weight of the substrate. The wound dressing produces a 7-day log reduction of 4 or more for bacteria in accordance with the Modified AATCC Test Method 100. The wound dressing is also non-cytotoxic in accordance with ISO 10993-5 standard procedure for medical device cytotoxicity assessment.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 2017Date of Patent: January 21, 2020Assignee: POREX TECHNOLOGIES CORPORATIONInventors: Chandrasiri Jayakody, Anthony J.
