Patent number: 5768716Abstract: The invention concerns goggles, in particular for sports and/or leisure wear, having a side piece, a curved front bar, a visor and a bridge for the nose. The side piece and the visor can be pivoted relative to each other. In the operating position they lie in different planes at an angle to each other and, in the rest position, they lie in planes substantially parallel to each other. The visor is resilient and is connected to the side piece by means of hinges or guides disposed in an eccentric or lateral area of the visor such that, when the side piece pivots towards the visor, the latter is resiliently deformed and is adapted to the shape of the front bar. If non-resilient visors are provided, the bridge connecting them is resilient and deformed resiliently when the side piece is pivoted towards the visors. In this way, the visors are moved into the desired operating position.Type: GrantFiled: July 9, 1996Date of Patent: June 23, 1998Assignee: Porsche Design GmbHInventor: Ferdinand A. Porsche

Patent number: 4109323Abstract: The invention relates to a protective helmet having a helmet shell resistant to mechanical stress. The helmet shell is composed at least partially of meltable material and is provided along at least one of its separating lines with an elongate separating device in the form of an electrical resistor element, said separating device being provided with at least two terminals to which an electric current source is connectable.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 1977Date of Patent: August 29, 1978Assignee: Porsche Design Ferdinand A. Patent number: 4060278Abstract: An energy absorbing arrangement for a safety belt including a metal band provided with a plurality of elongated slots arranged in staggered parallel rows extending transversely to the direction of the loading of the safety belt. The slots form real tear points or desired points of separation which function to absorb or dissipate force due to impact loading of the safety belt.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 1975Date of Patent: November 29, 1977Assignee: Firma Porsche DesignInventor: Bernhard Maeyerspeer

Patent number: 3953068Abstract: Safety passenger seat apparatus for a vehicle including a passenger seat having a backrest pivotally attached to a seat rest. Energy absorption devices are provided for dissipating and absorbing collison and/or deceleration forces acting on the seat or a passenger in the seat, which energy absorption devices utilize both pivotal and linear movement of portions of the seat during the energy absorption. In one preferred embodiment, a rotation energy transformer is provided at the pivotal connection between the backrest and the seat rest, while a further rotation energy transformer is provided at the attachment of the seat rest to a fixed foot support structure. This preferred embodiment further includes a linear energy transformer which frictionally dissipates energy during linear movement of the foot and attached seat along guide rails fixed in the floor of the vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 1974Date of Patent: April 27, 1976Assignee: Porsche DesignInventors: Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, Werner Scholpp
