Patents Assigned to Portrait Displays, Inc.
  • Publication number: 20220059049
Abstract: Described herein is a color calibration system and method including a display device including a non-volatile memory, a display screen, and a target sensor. The system and method further can include a computing system in communication with the display device and including a processor, a persistent memory, a temporary memory, and a reference sensor. A calibration matrix can be derived using the reference and target data captured by the target and reference sensors. The calibration matrix can be used to calibrate the target sensor using the calibration matrix.

  • Publication number: 20140136964
Abstract: A system and method for synchronizing color on at least two devices. A Color Synchronizer color standard is established for applying to display devices, where the color standard causes the actual colors of items in images to be displayed on the display device. The color standard is loaded onto a client computing device for applying to a display. The color standard is used to calibrate the display device. Images in a Web page are prepared based on the color standard for sending to the client computer display. Images of the items are captured by a camera calibrated to the color standard. An identifying code, such as a QR code, is embedded into the Web page. An identifier read from the QR code is used to verify that the Web page is certified. If certified, apply the color standard to the calibrated client display to adjust the colors on the display.

  • Publication number: 20050251868
Abstract: A computer system includes a theft deterrence program installed on a monitor (12) and a host computer (11). The theft deterrence program is in a deactivated state as long as the monitor (12) is connected to the host computer (11) and to a power source. Once the monitor (12) is disconnected from the power source and the host computer (11), the theft deterrence program enters an activated state when the monitor (12) powers up again. If not deactivated within a predetermined time period, the theft deterrence program enters a theft deterrence mode that disables or significantly deteriorates the function of the monitor (12). Connecting the monitor (12) to an authorized host computer or entering a PIN before the countdown time elapses can deactivate the theft deterrence program. The deactivated theft deterrence program allows the normal operation of the monitor (12).

  • Patent number: 5973664
Abstract: A system and method accommodate several image orientation modes in a single software driver. The driver utilizes the same software instructions for each orientation mode in order to transfer image information to display memory. The driver instructions which transfer the image information to display memory utilize parameters to determine where each successive pixel of information goes in the display memory. These parameters are set at the time an orientation mode is selected, and the use of these parameters by the driver allows the same instructions to be used for each mode.
