  • Patent number: 11835024
Abstract: In certain embodiments, an ocean wave energy extraction system including a wave energy panel may capture kinetic energy from an ocean wave as a force applied to a flexible membrane that drives the WEP back and forth in a reciprocating motion. The WEP dimensions may be selected so that the energy extracted from the wave is maximized and the added mass is minimized. A flexible membrane may be supported on two opposite edges by structural members that may pivot about a base. The shape of the flexible membrane may reciprocate in response to alternating horizontal wave orbital velocities. The force applied to the flexible membrane may be transmitted through the structural members to a power extraction device, such as a hydraulic pump or an electrical generator, that may be mounted to the base. Multiple WEPs may be arranged parallel to the wave crest to produce additional power.

  • Patent number: 11732446
Abstract: A plumbing distribution and control panel system is provided. The plumbing distribution and control panel system has a main control panel unit having an interior. A portion of each of a plurality of pipes of a residence or commercial building may pass through the control panel to various zones of the building such as, for example, a water heater or tankless heater, a kitchen, a bathroom, a utility room, a laundry room, a basement, an exterior unit, or a mechanical room of a commercial building. The main control panel may allow a user to control the flow of water through the pipes in those zones. The main control panel allows for the easy cut-off of flowing water which may prevent damage to the residence or commercial building. A wireless system may also allow a user to wirelessly control the flow of water through the pipes.

  • Publication number: 20230110120
Abstract: An isokinetic control module and method for incorporation on both new and existing exercise equipment. The control module replaces standard friction and hydraulic resistance components offering constant speed of the moveable elements of the machine rather than a selected resistance or weight. The constant user-generated resistance prevents injury and enhances strength training of the targeted muscle groups by maintaining constant strain on those muscles throughout the exercise. This method and device incorporates both a PCFC valve and a check valve device, removing all resistance the moment the user stops applying force to the machine. This enhances safety and facilitates the rapid return of the lifting element to its home position between repetitions. An optional graphical display is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8820135
Abstract: A method for operating an oxygen sensor arrangement senses the oxygen in a breathing loop of a breathing apparatus. The sensor arrangement includes a primary oxygen sensor to measure the oxygen in the breathing loop, a secondary oxygen sensor to measure the oxygen in the breathing loop, and a control arrangement to obtain measures from the oxygen sensor. A test channel arrangement provides a first gas having a first fraction of oxygen from a first gas supply to the primary oxygen sensor at a position adjacent to the primary oxygen sensor. A test valve arrangement opens and closes the flow of the first gas through the test channel arrangement. The control arrangement actuates the first test valve arrangement to provide an amount of the first gas to the primary oxygen sensor via the test channel arrangement and obtain measures from the primary and secondary oxygen sensors.
