Abstract: A system and method are provided for monitoring the posture of a user of the system, for example a user sitting at a computing device. A camera device is used for periodically capturing an image of a user; and for each captured image: a previously determined face detection model is applied to the image to detect a face of a user in the image; the detected face is compared to a previously determined good posture face to detect an instance of good posture; and a good posture message is generated to a user after a number of instances of good posture are detected.
