Patents Assigned to Power Group International Corporation
  • Patent number: 9577471
Abstract: A power system for providing an uninterruptible power supply to an external load has a first motor adapted to be connected to a source of power, a flywheel/generator adapted to supply power to the external load, a standby generator switchably electrically connected to the flywheel/generator, and a second motor drivingly connected to the generator/motor and to the internal combustion engine. The second motor is electrically connected to the power supplied by the flywheel/generator. The first motor is drivingly connected to the flywheel/generator. The flywheel/generator is electrically isolated from the source of power. The standby generator has an internal combustion engine that is driving connected to a generator/motor. The generator/motor is adapted to supply power to the flywheel/generator or the external load upon a change in power supplied by the flywheel/generator or the source of power. The second motor is an AC squirrel cage induction motor.

  • Patent number: 9479018
Abstract: An electrical machine has a drive shaft, a rotor affixed to the drive shaft and extending outwardly therefrom in which the rotor has at least one slice of a ferromagnetic material, a first plate positioned over and around the shaft and positioned adjacent to one side of the slice so as to have a portion extending radially outwardly beyond the circumferential surface of the slice, a second plate positioned over and around said shaft and positioned adjacent to another side of the slice so as to have a portion extending radially outwardly beyond the circumferential surface of the slice, and a magnet affixed to the circumferential surface in a location between the first and second plates.

  • Patent number: 4418287
Abstract: A wind powered generator for generating electrical energy comprising a generator which has no slip rings between its field and armature, and which when mounted on a tower is controlled through suitable control mechanism to adjust the power output to a level compatible with the load and storage equipment, as well as the existing wind conditions. The armature is fixedly mounted on the support (which can turn about an upright axis) and a housing carrying permanent magnets rotates around the armature. Bearing means stably support the housing and the armature and the propeller is easily mounted on the housing. The device is made to be relatively maintenance free and capable of unattended generation of electricity over extended periods of time.
