The main controller periodically detects a total power consumption value of the bulb lamp LED string. When the main controller determines that a variation of the total power consumption values between two adjacent periods of the bulb lamp LED string increases more than a standby power consumption threshold, the main controller executes a new address searching mode to detect an address of a bulb lamp LED installed in the bulb lamp LED string. The main controller further sequentially records the detected address into an address table stored in the main memory. Since the main controller can detect the address of the bulb lamp LED, a user can easily fix the replaceable bulb lamp LED string device without finding a vendor of the replaceable bulb lamp LED string device.

    Abstract: An LED string light controlling method using the PLC is executed by an LED string light using the PLC. The LED string light using the PLC is driven by a time-sharing technique. When a controller unit transmits data segments to an LED unit, an LED module of the LED unit is turned off, such that a current flowing through the LED module can be decreased. Namely, a power line for connecting the LED unit is an unloaded power line, and the data segments can be correctly transmitted. Moreover, an impact of data deformation or distortion caused by a current for driving the LED module can also be minimized. Therefore, a limitation of a transmission distance caused by the PLC can be improved, or an amount of the at least one LED module can be increased.

The main controller includes a main processing unit. The main processing unit determines whether a total consumption of the LED devices increases by a first predetermined value; when the total consumption increases by the first predetermined value, the main processing unit generates an address writing signal, and sends the address writing signal to the LED devices. Only the LED device with an empty LED memory unit, which is the newly installed LED device, will store an address code according to the address writing signal. Since the address code is given to the new LED device automatically by the main processing unit, the user can independently install a new LED device to the LED lighting system without professional help.

The main controller generates a testing signal to determine whether the LED devices are abnormal. Then, the main controller replaces the address code in an address table which corresponds to the abnormal LED device with the address code of a new LED device. Therefore, the parallel connection LED lighting system can still control each of the LED devices to display a plurality of frames for showing dynamic lighting effects according to the address table.
