Publication number: 20100125025Abstract: A training device for training a body part of a user is configured to advantageously limit the resonance movement of the flexible coupling member generated by the vibration of the vibrating device. The training device comprises a vibrating device for generating a vibration and a pretensioning device for generating a pre-tension in a muscle of the body part. The pretensioning device comprises a handling member configured to be held by the user, a reeling means for reeling a flexible coupling member, and a tensioning means for driving the reeling means such that the flexible coupling member is tensioned to allow the vibration generated by the vibrating device to be transferred to the handling member. The pretensioning device further comprises a movement limiter to limit a resonance movement of the flexible coupling member generated by the vibration of the vibrating device.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 17, 2009Publication date: May 20, 2010Applicant: POWER PLATE NORTH AMERICA INC.Inventor: Augustinus Leonardus Nicolaaas van der Meer

The tensioning means comprises a fluid resistance means configured to provide a variable resistance against the unreeling of the flexible coupling member but to provide substantially no resistance against the reeling of the flexible coupling member.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 17, 2009Publication date: May 20, 2010Applicant: POWER PLATE NORTH AMERICA, INC.Inventor: Augustinus Leonardus Nicolaas van der Meer

Publication number: 20090264801Abstract: A body vibration apparatus includes an at least partially rigid platform, a first motor coupled to the platform such that movement of the first motor imparts force to the platform. The first motor has a first shaft that rotates a first eccentric weight in a first direction, phase and plane. A second motor is coupled to the platform such that movement of the second motor imparts force to the platform. The second motor has a second shaft parallel to the first shaft that rotates in a second direction, which, in one embodiment, is opposite the first direction. A second eccentric weight is coupled to the second shaft in the first plane. The second eccentric weight rotates with the second shaft at the first phase.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 1, 2009Publication date: October 22, 2009Applicant: POWER PLATE NORTH AMERICA, INC.Inventor: Guus Van der Meer
