Patents Assigned to PowerCart Systems, Inc.
  • Patent number: 7573237
Abstract: A method of monitoring a battery includes measuring an open circuit voltage (Voc) on the battery to determine a measured state of charge (SOCm) after at least one use, obtaining a calculated state of charge (SOCc) based on a state of charge prior to the at least one use and a discharge of the battery during the at least one use, and determining a state of the battery based at least in part on a difference between the calculated state of charge and the measured state of charge.

  • Patent number: 7531917
Abstract: A power supply system suitable for use in a mobile cart for providing power to peripheral devices. The power supply system includes a combination inverter and transformer connected between an AC input and a battery terminal for providing electrical current to peripheral devices. A charger is connected between the AC input and the battery terminal for charging a battery and a cooling device is located for removing heat from both the combination inverter and transformer and the charger.

  • Publication number: 20080084187
Abstract: A system for controlling battery usage in a mobile power supply includes a controller for monitoring a state of charge of the battery and the voltage and switching off all power from the battery when the battery reaches a predetermined power off state of charge or a low voltage condition. A switch provides power to the controller in response to receipt of power from an other source, thereby causing the controller to resume monitoring of the state of charge of the battery. When the battery reaches a predetermined power off state of charge, the controller switches off power from the battery. The switch turns the controller back on in response to receipt of power from the other source. When the battery is recharged to a predetermined restart state of charge and when the voltage reaches a restart voltage, power from the battery is switched back on.
