    Abstract: Systems and techniques are provided for audio synchronization and delay estimation. Audio metadata including a first discrete Fourier transform representation may be received. An audio signal may be pre-processed. A second discrete Fourier transform representation may be generated from the pre-processed audio signal. A correlation result in a discrete Fourier transform representation may be generated based on an element-wise multiplication of the first and second discrete Fourier transform representations. An inverse Fourier transform may be performed on the correlation result in a discrete Fourier transform representation to generate a correlated signal including samples that may have a position and a value. A relative delay value may be determined based on the position of a sample having a value with the greatest magnitude. Playback of a second audio signal may be adjusted based on a current delay value adjusted based on the relative delay value.

    Abstract: A method of synchronizing one or more wirelessly received audio signals with an acoustically received audio signal is provided. The method comprises: receiving an electromagnetic signal using a first wireless communication method, the electromagnetic signal comprising: the one or more wirelessly received audio signals and a wirelessly received metadata relating to a remote audio content, determining a delay between the acoustically received audio signal and the one or more wirelessly received audio signals by referring the acoustically received audio signal to the wirelessly received metadata; and delaying the one or more audio signals by the determined delay. A device and system for performing the method are also provided.

    Abstract: A method of augmenting an ambiently experienced audio content is provided, the method comprises recording an acoustic audio signal from the ambiently experienced audio content; receiving a wireless signal comprising a first audio signal and a second audio signal, the wireless signal received using a first wireless communication system, wherein the first audio signal comprises sound that is also audible within the ambiently experienced audio content and the second audio signal comprises sound that is substantially inaudible within the ambiently experienced audio content; comparing the first audio signal with the acoustic audio signal to determine a delay between the acoustic audio signal and the first audio signal; delaying the second audio signal by the determined delay; and reproducing the delayed second audio signal at an audible volume, such that it is substantially synchronized with the ambiently experienced audio content.
