  • Patent number: 11081909
Abstract: A power transfer system for providing charging power to a power receiver is disclosed. The system comprises a hardware controller circuit, a first filter circuit, and a second filter circuit. The hardware controller circuit is configured to determine a first frequency for providing power from a first power transmitter to the power receiver via a first wireless field. The first filter circuit is operationally coupled to the hardware controller circuit and has a first frequency bandpass configured to pass a first driver signal for generating the first wireless field at the first frequency. The second filter circuit is operationally coupled to the hardware controller circuit and has a second frequency bandpass configured to pass a second driver signal for generating a second wireless field at a second frequency that is different from the first frequency.

  • Patent number: 10547211
Abstract: A device including a processor configured to identify a power receiving device and to determine a range configuration relative to the power receiving device is provided. The device also includes a first antenna configured to emit a propagating radiation at a selected frequency and in a selected direction, and a first power transmitting circuit configured to provide a signal at the selected frequency to the first antenna when the processor identifies the power receiving device within a far field configuration from the device. The device also includes a plate, configured to couple a ground terminal of the first power transmitting circuit with the first antenna and including a planar surface and at least an extension angled in a direction of increased directivity of the propagating radiation. Methods for fabricating and using a device as above are also provided.

  • Patent number: 10483806
Abstract: A device is provided that includes a processor configured to identify a power transferring device and to determine a range configuration relative to the power transferring device, and to determine a power status of the device. The device also includes a first antenna configured to receive an oscillating power signal from the power transferring device at a first selected frequency based on the range configuration relative to the power transferring device, and on the power status of the device, and a first rectifier circuit configured to convert the oscillating power signal from the first antenna at the first selected frequency into a direct-current signal to charge a device load. A method for using the above device is also provided.

  • Patent number: 10411523
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method and system for intelligently managed multi-mode wireless transfer of energy for charging and/or powering electronics devices. Such a system may include a near field energy transfer mode and a far field energy transfer mode that when intelligently combined or used selectively at particular ranges yields an overall improved result. An energy transfer unit connected to a power source may transfer energy over-the-air within range of at least one mode to one or more electronic devices integrated with an energy receiving unit for converting transferred energy to usable power suitable for charging and/or powering of the electronic device. The system may intelligently manage the selection, combination and/or switching of modes as optimally determined by at least one integrated control circuit combined with a communications protocol.

  • Patent number: 10069328
Abstract: A method is provided that includes identifying, by a power transferring unit, a power receiving unit in a proximity of the power transferring unit. The method further includes determining whether the power receiving unit is in a near field range or in a far range of the power transferring unit, receiving a power status from the power receiving unit and generating, in the power transferring unit and based on the power status information, a directed energy signal from a power transferring unit to the power receiving unit when the power receiving unit is within a far range of the power transmitting unit. The method includes generating, in the power transferring unit and based on the power status, an inductively coupled field that is resonant with the power receiving unit, when the power receiving unit is within at least a near field range of the power transferring unit.
