Abstract: The invention relates to a method of forming an anchor on an insulated cable so as, for example, to attach an electrical power cable to an electrical apparatus. The method includes the steps of providing a wicking material in contact with the insulation of the cable; introducing a liquid, settable adhesive into the wicking material on the insulated cable; and allowing the liquid, settable adhesive to be wicked into the wicking material and to set so as to bond the wicking material to the insulation of the cable and form a projecting anchor on the insulated cable.

Abstract: A primer for the promotion of bonding of a first plastic substrate to a second plastic substrate, which plastic substrates may either be made of a plastics material which conventionally is difficult to bond or of a plastics material which conventionally is not difficult to bond, with an adhesive such as a cyanoacrylate, consists of a compound of the formula I: ##STR1## wherein --(CH.sub.2).sub.n -- is a straight or branched chain alkyl group of 1 to 6 carbon atoms inclusive; p, q, r and s are each independently 1 to 6 inclusive; and each R is independently --CH.sub.3 or --OH.
Abstract: There is disclosed a method for the modification of a natural clinoptilolite by acid treatment using a mineral acid at a suitable temperature and for a suitable period of time, followed by calcination, to produce a modified clinoptilolite which may be used as a catalyst in a reaction for the preparation of or transformation of hydrocarbons, e.g. the cracking of hydrocarbon products. There is also disclosed a method of regenerating the deactivated modified catalyst after use by treatment in the presence of nitrous oxide.
