Abstract: A target alignment system for use with a golf club for determining the precise clubface angle relative to a target path in the direction which a ball is intended to travel. The system provides an indication of the clubface angle during address of the club behind the ball and an indication of the clubface angle at the moment of impact when the ball is struck. The system includes a light source and optics for projecting a light beam, a reflecting surface of the golf club for reflecting the light beam to an array of photodetectors, and a display which is energized in accordance with the measured clubface angle.
