  • Patent number: 8490352
Abstract: Improved concrete form insert assemblies (20) are provided for use in the construction of thermally insulated poured concrete sandwich wall structures (22). The insert assemblies (20) include a central sheet (32) of insulative material such as synthetic resin foam, which is preferably encapsulated by a sheath (78) to enhance the structural integrity of the sheet (32). A pair of reinforcing bar assemblies (46, 48) preferably made up of welded-together horizontal and vertical bars (50, 52) are respectively positioned adjacent the side surfaces (34, 36) of the sheet (32). The bar assemblies (46, 48) are secured to sheet (32) by means of connector elements (54) extending through the sheet (32) and presenting oppositely outwardly extending, apertured segments (56, 58).

  • Patent number: 8011637
Abstract: Improved concrete form systems (10) are provided which permit erection of the systems (10) in close quarters adjacent existing structures, e.g., the systems (10) may be successfully installed with as little as 2-½ inches of clearance between such existing structures. The systems (10) include spaced apart outer and inner wall sections (12, 14) each formed of juxtaposed, interconnected form panels (16, 18, 20, 22), with connection assemblies (24, 25) serving to interconnect the adjacent form panels (16, 18, 20, 22) of each wall section (12, 14), and to cross-connect the wall sections (12, 14). Each form panel has a planar panel segment (26) having side marginal connection structures (48) preferably including concave surfaces (50, 52).

  • Patent number: 7182308
Abstract: An assembly (20) for releasably interconnecting a pair of concrete form panels (22, 24) having adjacent, apertured walls (30) is provided which completely eliminates loose parts and significantly reduces panel setup and knock-down times. The assembly (20) includes an elongated pin (38) axially shiftable between extended and retracted positions, as well as an elongated connection arm (88) of length to bridge the adjacent walls (30) and engage the remote surface of the wall (30). An operating mechanism (42) is operatively coupled with pin (38) and arm (88). A latch assembly (96) serves to releasably maintain the pin (38) and arm (88) in their respective positions. Preferably, the pin 38 is mounted on a body (36) shiftable along a track (46); the latch assembly (96) is also supported on the body (36) to insure that the operating mechanism (42) can be properly latched in the retracted and extended positions of the pin (38).

  • Patent number: 5759429
Abstract: An assembly (20) for releasably interconnecting a pair of concrete form panels (28, 28a) having adjacent, apertured walls (30, 30a) is provided which completely eliminates loose parts and significantly reduces panel setup and knock-down times. The assembly (20) includes an elongated pin (22) axially shiftable between extended and retracted positions, as well as an elongated connection arm (24) of length to bridge the walls (30, 30a) and engage a surface (44a) of one wall (30a). An operating mechanism (70) is operatively coupled with pin (22) and arm (24) and serves to draw the walls (30, 30a) together when pin (22) is extended through the wall apertures (32, 32a). A latch assembly (96) serves to releasably maintain the pin (22) and arm (24) in their respective positions.

  • Patent number: 5251868
Abstract: An improved, lightweight, retrofittable pin assembly (10) for the releasable interconnection of end-to-end abutting concrete form panels (12, 14) is provided which includes an elongated, tapered, axially shiftable pin (16) as well as coupler (18) for coupling the pin to an end wall (24) of a panel (12). The coupler (18) includes a resilient metallic retaining ring (58) which frictionally and compressively engages the pin in substantial alignment with an associated aperture (27) in end wall (24). The pin (16) preferably includes a pair of elongated, opposed sots (34, 36), and a two-piece, split tab washer (60) is employed for preventing complete detachment of the pin (16) from assembly (10) during use thereof.

  • Patent number: 4407480
Abstract: A concrete form has an embossed forming panel for molding a facade of brickwork in a particular pattern on a concrete wall or the like. Specially constructed support flanges are secured to the marginal borders of the panel on the exterior face of the latter to prevent undesired deformation of the borders. Each flange has a panel engaging surface and a plurality of projections on the surface adapted to be received within depressions in the borders presented by the brickwork pattern. In the preferred embodiment, the panel is embossed to resemble an English cross-bond brickwork pattern, and the marginal borders vertically traverse the pattern through vertically aligned joints in alternate courses, the flanges having similarly arranged projections to be received within the spaced depressions presented by the aligned, vertically spaced joints.
