    Abstract: The exemplary embodiments relate to dampening and uniform loading devices and methods for loading a particulate material inside a vertical tube and include a columnar body having a longitudinal axis aligned in a vertical direction and a plurality of yielding lines. Each respect yield line is fixed at a first end and at a second end to the columnar body, and has a free-standing portion between the first end and the second end. The free-standing portion is configured to spiral around the columnar body.
