  • Patent number: 7077884
Abstract: A hydrogen sulfide scrubber includes first and second scrubber tanks with scrubber media contained therein. Scrubbing solution circulators each include a dispenser for dispensing scrubbing solution into contact with the scrubber media, a sump for collecting the scrubbing solution after contact with the scrubber media, and a circulating pump for circulating the scrubbing solution from the sump back to the dispenser after contact with the scrubber media. A polymeric amine supply is provided for supplying a polymeric amine to the scrubbing solution in the second tank. The scrubbing solution in the first tank may be charged with the polymeric amine by a charging line extending from the second tank to the first tank. In other embodiments, a regenerative blower and associated nozzle may be used to generate a scrubbing solution mist in the space beneath the scrubber media and above the sump.

  • Patent number: 6773582
Abstract: A drinking water treatment system includes a pump for pumping water from an aquifer, an aerator connected downstream from the pump for generating an outlet water flow and a hydrogen sulfide-containing gas flow, and a hydrogen sulfide scrubber for scrubbing the hydrogen sulfide-containing gas flow from the aerator. The hydrogen sulfide scrubber includes at least one scrubber tank and scrubber media contained therein. A scrubbing solution circulator includes a dispenser for dispensing scrubbing solution into contact with the scrubber media, a sump for collecting the scrubbing solution after contact with the scrubber media, and a circulating pump for circulating the scrubbing solution from the sump back to the dispenser after contact with the scrubber media. A triazine compound supply is provided for supplying a triazine compound to the scrubbing solution.

  • Publication number: 20030034302
Abstract: An insecticide delivery apparatus may include an insecticide extraction chamber having an outlet adjacent a lower end thereof, and a screen adjacent the outlet for holding a mass of insecticide bearing bodies to partially fill the insecticide extraction chamber. A nozzle may be positioned adjacent an upper end of the insecticide extraction chamber for directing a water stream downwardly therefrom toward the mass of insecticide bearing bodies. An air control device may control the water level and associated head space so that the insecticide bearing bodies are at least partially submerged in the water. The bodies may be churned in the water by action of the stream to enhance delivery of insecticide into the water. The apparatus may provide efficient and cost effective control of a number of insects, such as midge flies, that are prevalent in a trickling filter of a typical wastewater treatment plant.
