  • Patent number: 4296292
Abstract: A variable electromechanical device, such as a rotary potentiometer, incls a housing with a sleeve having a bore through which an actuation shaft extends. The shaft is provided with an annular groove. A portion of the sleeve is displaced by stamping so that it extends into the annular groove of the shaft to prevent axial movement of the latter. A projection formed on the shaft within the annular groove cooperates with the displaced portion of the sleeve for limiting the rotation of the shaft. A lubricating and braking liquid of high viscosity is filled in the groove, and one or more passages are formed on the projection so that the liquid can pass from one side of the projection to the other side thereof when the shaft is rotated.

  • Patent number: 4243969
Abstract: A layer resistor element for use in a variable resistor has two resistance layers disposed upon each other on an insulating substrate, the lower resistance layer being provided with two comb-like sets of separating slots extending from opposite sides to form a meander-like resistance path, the widths and lengths of the meander turns varying in accordance with a given non-linear resistance characteristic. The upper resistance layer which is of a material of higher resistivity than the lower resistance layer covers the lower layer partly or totally and extends beyond the lower layer at one side thereof where it provides a path for a slider of the variable resistor.

  • Patent number: 4198620
Abstract: Apparatus for receiving remote control signals which comprise an alternat sequence of two chronologically successive pulses, the first pulse having a first predetermined frequency and the second pulse having a second frequency manually selected from a predetermined number of frequencies, each of the predetermined number of frequencies representing a command to be carried out. The receiver comprises a signal detector, a signal amplifier and a circuit for decoding the remote control signal into a group signal dependent on the first frequency and a command signal dependent on the second frequency. A controllable gate is provided for gating the command signal from the decoding circuit to a command signal register having a command signal input for each of the commands, and an input for blocking each command signal output. Means coupled to the command signal outputs implement the commands.

  • Patent number: 4139749
Abstract: A switch actuated by a control lever associated with a steering column for operating direction-indicating lamps, switching the headlights to low and high beam, operating the screen wiper and actuating similar functions includes a housing in which an end portion of a flexible band-type cable is fixed. The control lever is mounted in the housing for rocking about a pair of mutually perpendicular axes and actuating a pair of sliders each guided within the housing for movement along one of the axes. The band-type cable includes a plurality of printed conductors covered by an insulation. At the end portion of the cable, the conductors have exposed portions not covered by the insulation, which exposed portions form fixed contacts cooperating with movable contacts carried by the sliders. The remaining portion of the cable extends outwardly of the housing for connecting the fixed contacts to a power supply and the respective electrical devices operated by the switch.

  • Patent number: 4114002
Abstract: An electrical switch having conductive contact elements each pivoted about a stationary middle contact block is disclosed. The contact elements are each formed as a triangular spring open at one apex and having a bearing the side thereof opposite the open apex for engaging its respective middle contact block. The other two sides of each spring, depending on the switch position, rest under spring tension against one or the other of stationary contact blocks arranged on either side of its respective middle contact block. The ends of these two sides adjacent the open apex are formed with hooks which are positioned with a minimum of friction in recesses and oblong openings in a rotatable actuating element, under spring tension, in such a way that the contact element serves to produce a snap action as the actuating element is rotated.

  • Patent number: 4024502
Abstract: An apparatus for remotely controlling one or more power units including a transmitter which produces an optical pulse train having a frequency varied by an astable multivibrator controlled by keys which connect different resistances into the astable circuit, and one or more receivers. Each receiver receives the optical pulses, converts them to electrical pulses, divides the frequency, counts the electrical pulses, provides an analog output from the counter and compares that analog output with a saw tooth periodic waveform to control circuit elements which in turn control conduction through the power unit.
