Abstract: An apparatus for printing labels having a tacky side and a non-tacky printable side. The apparatus comprises a print head for printing indicia on the printable side of the labels, and a print roller disposed in close proximity to the print head. The print head is thus enabled to print indicia on the labels when the labels are supported by the print roller, the print roller having at least one annular recess in its surface thereof. The apparatus further comprises at least one elongated stripper element retained in and extending from the recess such that upon rotation of the roller, the label is transported to the stripper element. The stripper element thereby lifts the label from the surface of the roller and the label is removed from the print roller.

Abstract: A food mixer in which a variable speed facility is provided by a variable transmission ratio belt drive incorporated in the drive train between an electric motor and a whipping or mixing tool. The belt drive comprises a V-belt extending around first and second pulleys each comprising two discs one of which is movable towards and away from the other. In the first pulley, the upper disc can be forced towards the lower disc by downward pivoting of a lever operated by an actuator, while in the second pulley, the lower disc is urged by a spring upwardly towards the upper disc. The effective transmission ratio is sensed by a position sensor acting on the lever and which provides a corresponding signal to controller circuitry which compares the sensed ratio with a pre-set ratio and operates the actuator to bring the sensed ratio and pre-set ratio into correspondence.

Abstract: An interlock mechanism for a food product slicer that prevents the carriage support of a reciprocating carriage from being removed from the slicer housing unless the gauge plate of the slicer is closed and the carriage is positioned along a predetermined portion of the path of reciprocation of the carriage. Abstract: A recirculating food product deep fryer comprising a cooking tank, a cooking oil dispersement assembly extending into the cooing tank for emitting a cooking oil into the cooking tank, a heat exchanger, and a centrifugal pump for continuously pumping the cooking oil through the heat exchanger and cooking tank. The centrifugal pump includes a cylindrical, hollow and vertically aligned sump tube and a pump impeller rotatably mounted approximate the bottom end of the sump tube, a rotor shaft extending through the sump tube substantially along the sump tube axis for rotatably driving the impeller, a motor couple to the rotor shaft at the top end of the sump tube for rotatably driving the rotor shaft, and an annular baffle mounted to the rotor shaft between the pump impeller and the motor. The annular baffle acts to centrifugally sling cooking oil particles entrained in steam rising vertically through the sump tube and coming in contact with the bottom surface of the annular baffle.

Abstract: A warewashing machine has a washing chamber with an enlarged height to increase the chamber's capacity without increasing the warewashing machine's surface area, and has collapsible doors to facilitate larger openings to the enlarged washing chamber. The larger openings and enlarged capacity allow the warewashing machine to wash oversized wares. The collapsible doors allow the full access to the enlarged openings without significantly increasing the minimum height of the ceiling over the warewashing machine.
